...why the supposed "liberal media" is currently fixated on the tabloid stories revolving Annna Nicole Smith and Britney Spears while there are bigger fish--Scooter Libby, British withdrawal from Iraq--on the back burner?

If it's all left wing-driven, as they are fond of claiming, then why the attention to the smoke and mirrors?

Of course, those of us in the media are aware of the ugly truth behind it all.

...if the media were purposefully slanted toward liberal causes, then why would they waste time covering fluff when there are much more cognet stories out there to drive home a left-wing viewpoint or to ridicule the administration? How does that validate crackpot theories about "lib'rul media?"

The media cares about ratings/readers because that's what makes money and most of them ultimately don't care how they achieve that end. That's why so many go for the lowest common denominator.
