Hoping to tap into a growing discontent with the war in Iraq, organizers across Connecticut are holding town meetings Saturday to rally the grass-roots opposition.
"Our troops need to come home," said Caron Shanahan, the organizer of Bristol's gathering. She said, "Too many people have died, too many Americans and too many Iraqis."
"We can spend our time agonizing or we can spend our time organizing. The folks who show up on Saturday are people who want to organize," said Phil Sherwood, who's putting together the meeting in New Britain.
Anti-war sessions are planned in 24 towns, including Bristol, New Britain and Middletown.

Brennan said they'll talk at the meetings about ways to make more of a difference, through phone banks, letter- writing campaigns and demonstrations, including a major peace rally planned for March 17 at the Old State House in Hartford.
