Question about superdelegates
Is it true that they are not actually committed at this time? Can they change their mind? Personally, I think this whole system of electing a candidate sucks. Caucus versus primary, popular vote versus electoral vote. Where is the real democracy? Debates are a good way to showcase your campaign and beliefs, but the expensive and confusing way these things are run is ridiculous. Maybe the whole primary thing should be scrapped. Witness the huge debate here on DU about who won in Nevada. Hillary with more popular votes or Barack with more delegates. And the potential for messing with the rules is staggering. Where's my DEMOCRACY??

1. Yes they can change their mind. I THINK most won't unless who
they are currently supporting lose the nomination. THEN they switch to support the nominee.

2. A-frickin-men.
I can't answer your question - I'd heard the same thing about the establishment delegates. But I agree, it's messed up bad...

3. its my understanding that a superdelegate doesn't have

to reveal his or her support ahead of time nor is that support set in stone until the nominee is chosen. At the same time I wouldn't expect dramatic shifts of support for those delegates that are open about their candidate of choice.

4. so if super delegates make up about
40% (saw that figure floating around elsewhere) then the primaries are really nothing but a dog and pony show, as long as a candidate gets 11% of delegates total the super delegates can still make them the nominee. So basically of the top three the dnc will choose for us at this point and we have to drink the kool aid. god it hate this system.
