I will looking for your "hear me roar" post about Sen. Obama. I'm sure it will provide the same depth to which the post traveled.

:hi:

13. What are you trying to achieve with your literary character, here?
Edited on Sun Jan-20-08 12:31 AM by BleedingHeartPatriot
Can you perhaps quote a fragment of literature on which you build your current persona? MKJ

edit, spelling, grammer, the whole nine yards.

10. Our family was raised with Labor politics at the dinner table.
My Dad was a foreman Pipefitter on BIG construction sites, so he had experiences with Racism on the job that he used to tell us about.

In highschool I debated "Should there be an international organization to control the proliferation of nuclear weapons" when I was 16.

Political awareness is my heritage.

Not bragging. Just trying to tell it like it really is: I was also raised in a generation of Catholics who WERE (yes, PAST tense) part of the church that created the REAL Pro-Life movement, i.e. PRO-Life/Anti-War/Anti-Capital Punishment. My generation has not gone away and many many of us have not forgotten our values.

The nuns used to tell us (because we asked often) what the most dangerous sin is. They said because of Supernatural Grace you could never say definitely what would gaurantee damnation, but that Blasphemy was a pretty sure bet - and - I see Blasphemy around me every day, with folks speaking for God all of the time, especially that jerk in the WH.

That was also a time when Catholic religious leaders were also saying: except for matters related to dogma (a word that is being thrown all over the place lately) the significance of any sin is a matter between the individual conscience and God. You know that this must be true, because otherwise, why would the Sacrament of Penance be an individual act. If individual coscience is not primary, Penance could just as well be a group activity.

As you can see, I am a child of the '60s, a generation that is reviled pretty frequently by nearly anyone, including our own cohort. We are supposedly the point at which this country turned to the Dark Path. I'm not saying we are anyone's messiah; except for the basic condition of forgiveness through Jesus Christ, I believe everyone must "save" oneself. No one can do it for you, but "we" can do it together.

Solidarity, Slingsam!

14. Kicking for "creatures with breasts" and your "pussies" remark further down. This OP sounds even
more "interesting" with a morning view.

She may be a big thing in the States, but she is most reviled here in the UK.

17. As Gandhi is
in certain Indian quarters.........reviled, I mean.

Mine was more a salute to breasts.........than acknowledgement of substance.........

I continue to evaluate the substance within.....Hillary.
