Something to remember during the primaries from Bill Hicks
Before you make that post accusing someone else of spinning or being a paid operative or being misguided or naive in their view it might be worth remembering Bill's take on US politics.

I'll show you politics in America. Here it is, right here. 'I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs.' 'I think the puppet on the left is more to my liking.' 'Hey, wait a minute, there's one guy holding out both puppets!'

1. But Tide and Ivory Snow are verrrry different!!!
Edited on Sun Jan-20-08 12:52 AM by RufusTFirefly
Tide has oxy-boosting, and Ivory Snow is a gentle cleanser.

(Counting down the posts before a certain upstart 2000 Presidential candidate's name is mentioned. I think this should be a corollary of Godwin's Law. And no, I did NOT vote for him.)

UPON EDIT: As for me, I worship Vern.

2. This was more true in 1993 when he said it
. . . than it is today. The Republicans are even more the puppets of big oil and military contractors than they ever were. Democrats are financed primarily by unions, telecom firms, lawyers and banks. Which would you rather have run the country?

3. Bill was so right on so many things.
He would never believe that GW was selected and permitted to destroy this country. My sadness is his that our 'top' candidates are really no change at all. So very sad. Peace, Kim

7. I don't believe the answers lie in the ballot box
don't believe they ever have. political activism is much broader than campaigning for the least worst candidate every 4 years

8. I have this feeling that whoever's elected president, like Clinton was...
no matter what promises you make on the campaign trail - blah, blah, blah - when you win, you go into this smoky room with the twelve industrialist, capitalist scumfucks that got you in there, and this little screen comes down... and it's a shot of the Kennedy assassination from an angle you've never seen before, which looks suspiciously off the grassy knoll.... And then the screen comes up, the lights come on, and they say to the new president, 'Any questions?'

"...Just what my agenda is."

Man, I miss Bill Hicks.
