Everything happens so fast these days.

They threaten to break off and form their own duckie party.

Now for Morton Vigo with our Duck on the street segment.

Morton."

"Hi, Bob.

So Mr. Duck how do you feel about Vilsack pulling out of the race?"

"Aflaaaac (quacked in a depressing tone.)"

"Bob, back to you."

13. Indeed. He obviously didn't get the corporate media's permission.
He must realize that their campaign contributions (in the form of media coverage) are determinative. It's a shame Iowa isn't a "major media market."

22. When the ex-Gov. of Iowa of polling fourth in Iowa (tied with undecided), it's time to re-evaluate
John Edwards 24%
Hillary Clinton 18%
Barack Obama 18%
Tom Vilsack 14%
Joe Biden 5%
Bill Richardson 3%
Wesley Clark 2%
Chris Dodd 1%
Dennis Kucinich 1%
Undecided 14%

http://strategicvision.biz/political/iowa_poll_022207.htm

PS - Before anyone says "polls don't mean anything at this stage" know that I generally agree. However, the Iowa polls do mean something for Vilsack because the poll population may not know any of the other candidates well, they certainly know their ex-governor well enough to judge his candidacy and if he's not polling better than fourth in his home state, he's just not viable.

27. Polling at this point is irrelevant. To many times to recount, those that
are trailing end up ahead. Iowa is just dating right now.

28. If you saw my "PS" then you know I agree. But Iowans already know Vilsack and when even Iowans don't
embrace Vilsack's campaign, that's trouble at any stage in the campaign. The polling at this stage is almost pointless for the other candidates (although good early poll numbers do help fund-raising and poor early poll numbers tend to hurt fund-raising), Vilsack's inability to rally more support from his home state voters who know him best is a death knell for a marginal low-profile candidate.
