headlines and felt my heart sink through the floorboards at another catastophe poorly dealt with
or another criminal act covered up.

I want the lifeblood pumped back into each and every soldier - on any and all sides of this fake and useless war - who was killed
since the day of "Shock and Awe," so they can go home, rejoin their families and continue their everyday, boring, blessed lives.

Sorry to get carried away, but it's a damn shame that the possibility of punishing the criminals is just a pipe dream that gets further and further away.

the one that won't happen, but should, is the arrest of Bush, Cheney, et al for obstruction of justice and a trial in a criminal court. Then a trip to the international criminal court to face charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity...with their buddy Rummy. oh, and Eric Prince.

that's the revenge I'm talking about. righteous anger and just punishment.

fire every fundie Bush, etc. put in office and replace them with non-idiots. accept the resignation of every att. gen and replace them with people who care about the law, not covering someone's ass.

de-fund "faith-based" govt. programs. require churches to follow the rule of law. if they campaign for a particular party, make them pay taxes, or make them close.

Fund a "truth and reconciliation" committee, like Mandela did in South Africa, and like people in Chile did after Pinochet was ousted. Tell the truth about the shitty things these people did.

If we did those things, the U.S. would again be a respected nation. If we don't do those things... then whoever wins is complicit, at the least, in the commission of multiple crimes, both domestic and international.

should I hold my breath for that one?
