Surprising insight from the sub-freepers about Bush's "stimulus" package...
Just read a very amusing post on The Site Not Worth Mentioning re: Bush's bullshit $800/$1600 stimulus package. It appears even the most stupid among us understand the folly of the bribery attempt. Poignant are the posts that underscore some of the things so wrong with our country without even realizing they're doing so, like "If it's $1600 per married couple, well, we're . . . well, I'm the one paying it . . . spending $11,000 this year on child care."

But by far the best comment is this one, posted by a "moran" who seems to actually understand something for a change...

"I am always happy to get back some of my money, but inevitable the government will want it back, big time.

This is more like taking out a payday loan. We get 1600 bucks now and pay for it to the tune of tens of thousands in the inevitable tax raise that will follow."

No shit.

6. Actually, this is an opportunity.
The real truth about what is happening to America--the erosion of the American middle class and the occasional "bone" thrown to us to keep us quiet--is something we all have in common. If we could let the media-propagandized window-dressings down and look at the real facts, we could join with people of all different political stripes and go after the common enemy.

As it is, they win with "divide and conquer". And if they can keep us fighting each other, they'll take every cent we have and demand more than we could ever pay.
