3. That was brilliant as usual.
We could also replace Lady Liberty with DU which is also dying of lack of sustenance.

5. Well, if *I* get elected president, I'll make sure it becomes illegal to NOT sit when you pee!
No more toilet seats left up! The end of the war between the sexes!

All toilet seats in America will have sensors that are directly wired into Homeland Security Headquarters -- you raise that seat, you damn well better have your pants zipped and a toilet brush in your hand!

10. So, you're anti-choice?
I saw "The Full Monty"! Women don't have to sit, it's a choice. And if you're going to plant your bare bottom on something without checking it out thoroughly, well, let's just say there's an issue of personal responsibility to be sorted out as well.

Why yes, I am single. How did you know?

13. I've peed standing up. To do so successfully requires that one remove all garments below the waist,
in order to achieve a sufficiently wide stance and avoid unfortunate drippage.

Squatting is a different matter, of course -- but squatting is not standing up.

As for you being single, perhaps I'll allow a clause that exempts single men from the sitting-only law in the privacy of their own homes. Lobby me. Lobby me hard.

24. There's an easier solution...
Just decrease the required distance between the wall and the toilet fitting, pushing the water tank forward and making it impossible for anyone to lift the toilet seat with any hope of making it stay up.

:)

14. when that lady with the spiked crown hit the floor
she had lots of company

including me - NO REALLY

really it would be nice if we could see the candidates debate and expound on the issues:

Global survival of the human species (some refer to this as the "global warming" or "an inconvenient truth(tm)")

Ending the use of WAR (Institutionalized Murder) as an instrument of foreign policy and a tool to increase corporate control over people and resources ("the iraq war" is the current example, but hardly the only one - and look out, Iran!)

National Infrastructure (Health, roads, bridges, schools, shelter, food supply, energy, communication network, healthy economy, disaster response)

Human rights (sometimes referred to as "gay", "minority", or "women's rights" - like these are all separate species??? come on people :( )

16. an informed democracy
would this be more likely if more people were watching PBS? Isn't PBS available to most of the country?

Plus, Iraq has been discussed ad naseum in all of the debates. It's like there are no domestic issues. Except for terrorism, of course :eyes:

18. Gotta love some of the responses posted on Salon.com
Especially this one:

So, Tom Tomorrow, who are you?

You save your contempt except for a pundit who has been ranting and raving like a lunatic for the last several years, whose ego is overweening and contempt for everyone is thick as a brick: Tom Tomorrow. But then, why do that? Tom Tomorrow's perfect. He should be President. Hell, he should be Boss of the World, he's so perfect.

Modesty, thy name is...not within a continent of Tom Tomorrow.

21. TT hits the nail on the head. It's even happening on what is supposedly "our side"
I was listening to Bill Press this morning and his only coverage was 100% "horserace" and that Edwards has come up lame and is finished. It is almost time for me to step away from the computer and turn off the radio. I gave up on the tv as an information medium years ago.

25. Uh Bill Press
is an MSM nice guy club wonk. Despite his claims to be a progressive or whatever he is pretty light. His moderate viewers hand him his butt on almost every question he poses for discussion. Ed Schultz is better because he is not so in the media Foggy Bottom team. His lightness is not so annoying and he doesn't have a comedy team to back him up.

In any event it goes for all of us. Though we realize the only significance of the MSM is in their effect on the people, we start from them on cue and usually fall for some of their twisted intent as it suits our predilections.

22. Definitely!!!
My only question is why didn't they discuss this months ago. Why was Kucinich AUTOMATICALLY lampooned when most of us know that his stances on the issues were the most honest, the most populist, and the most Democratic.
