A major scam which saw Eastern European children trafficked into Britain to steal, beg and rob bank clients at cash point machines has been stopped.

Eighteen Romanians have been arrested after police swooped on members of a child slave gang, who were importing children as young as ten years of age.

Six children were rescued and put into care homes after being picked up in the same raid.
