It's clear from the GOP debate tonight that Russert is a Republican.
Think about it: His questions were thoughtful and issue-focused. With the Dems, he's all like, "Hey, you're a chick! You're a black dude! What's up with that? Hey, you saw a UFO? What are you, gay?"

It just seems pretty obvious. I mean, to be fair, if I was moderating a GOP debate, I'd probably ask questions like: "Governor Huckabee, you're a Creationist. What are you, an idiot?"

1. "what is your favorite Bible verse?"
Probably his most outlandish "gotcha" moment during the Democratic debates.

2. Yeah, that was bad.
It wasn't Russert, but the 'was Clinton the first black president' question to Obama at the recent CNN debate was pretty damn foul too.

3. How come Keith don't moderate?
Also a neat way to boost ratings I think, is to add a celebrity moderator. George Carlin would be a great one.

7. Did you note how much time Romney got??
Even if the NYT did have that terrible quote about Rudy, why
do you have to read it there??? No Rudy fan, but it made me
a little uncomfortable??

10. He's a Democrat- at least--he was
Russert graduated from law school and went to work on New York Democrat Daniel Patrick Moynihan's 1976 Senatorial campaign. He later went to work on New York Democrat Mario Cuomo's 1982 gubernatorial campaign. In 1984 he was hired by NBC at their Washington Bureau. He became Washington Bureau Chief 4 years later.

14. Tim Russert Media Whore
In 1992, shortly after being named moderator of Meet The Press, Tim Russert was having lunch with a broadcast executive. The mealtime conversation was about the pros and cons of working for General Electric’s NBC subsidiary. Russert expounded on how being employed by GE had brought him to the realization that things functioned better when Republicans were in charge.

“You know, Tim, you used to be such a rabid Democrat when you worked for Pat Moynihan,” said the executive. “But now that you’ve gotten a glimpse of who’s handing out the money in this business, you’ve become quite the Jaycee. Were you wrong about everything you used to believe so strongly?”

“I still believe,” Russert said, leaning across the table. “I believe in everything I ever did. But I also know that I never would have become moderator on Meet The Press if my employers were uncomfortable with me. And, given the amount of money at stake, millions of dollars, I don’t blame them. This is business.”

The executive agreed. “But are you concerned about losing yourself? You know, selling out?”
Russert pounded the table. “Integrity is for paupers!”

Russert is about being a Millionaire & hobnobbing with the Power Elite. He sold himself to GE.

16. "Governor Huckabee, do the laws set down in the Old Testament apply to you and your family?"
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 03:13 AM by Leopolds Ghost
"As a Baptist preacher, you claim the Bible is unitary and inerrant.
This goes against traditional theological teachings, that the words
of Jesus in the New Testament override Hebrew law. Theologians also
claim that Jesus said "no one shall reach the kingdom of heaven except
through the example of my teachings". Why do Baptists believe that
the Old Testament law and prophets take precedence over the teachings
of Jesus? If the Old Testament explicitly condones slavery, does that
mean slavery is not un-christian? If so, how can you claim to believe
the Bible is inerrant?"

Why should Mitt be the only one having to defend his bizarre and
unethical religious beliefs?

back in 00. He had one on but it was hidden behind his lapel. Jack Welch turned him into one.
