A Democratic Coup D'etat in Turkey? (Sibel Edmonds' efforts affecting arrests in Turkey?)
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 04:39 PM by calipendence
Just saw this come across the wire. According to this Kurdish blog site, when one of Turkey's "Deep State criminal" generals, General Yasar Buyukanit, had been out of the country visiting London, 33 members of an extreme right wing ultra nationalist group, named Ergenekon, presumably with ties or sympathies from Buyukanit, were rounded up and arrested on January 22nd and are awaiting chargers of murder, assassination, provocations, etc.

The writer feels that the ruling AKP party might be flexing their muscles now to in effect do a "democratic coup" there and flush the system of these Deep State criminals, that are allegedly the same people that Sibel Edmonds has recently alleged to be part of the WMD proliferation conspiracies she's talked about and the London Times has written about in recent weeks.

When you couple that with Bush's new efforts to try and go through with sales of nuclear technologies to Turkey as highlighted by Luke Ryland in a nother thread here, these are really interesting revelations. Might we be hitting a tipping point folks?

If we could get rid of these neocons and these Turkish criminals with them, perhaps as the writer said, we could also affect some degree of peaceful resolution of differences between the Kurds and the Turks too. We should be watching this as well as what is happening with Bushco.

A Democratic Coup D'etat in Turkey?

Kurdishaspect.com - By Hevallo

While the leader of the Turkish 'Deep State', war criminal, General Yasar Buyukanit, was out of the country visiting London (20th-24th Jan), 33 members of a shadowy, extreme right wing ultra nationalist group, named Ergenekon were rounded up and detained (22nd Jan). They are now awaiting charges of political murder, assassination, provocations and dirty 'Deep State' activities.

Was it significant that General Buyukanit was out of the country when these arrests took place and does this indicate an escalation in the tension and friction between the ruling AKP and Turkish 'deep staters' such as Buyukanit?

Was this a democratic Coup D'etat?

...

This all comes at a time when Sibel Edmonds is also revealing 'secrets' about the 'dirty' relationships between, Neo Con/American individuals and Turkish 'Deep Staters' in the US.

These two developments should be linked and further investigations should be followed up.

Saw that in my Google alerts. Interesting, isn't it? The thing is, this case is followed very very closely over there and has been for awhile.

6. Look up some of the other threads on Sibel Edmonds here...
Here's some good ones on this:

For more about the "Deep State" of Turkish politics, which is probably as corrupt as those that populate the Bush administration, and perhaps more, as you have infiltration of many right wing extermist groups in it like the Gray Wolves, etc. there that were linked to things like the attempted assassination of the pope, likely the assassination of Armenian dissident Hrant Dink recently amongst other things. If you look at Sibel's links to this, you'll see how this really affects us too in a very serious way, and how it is also tied with the dirty side of Israel's politics too.

If you're new to the case, Philip Giraldi's recent American Conservative Article is a good up to date summary and introduction to what's happened with Sibel Edmonds and the various other events around her over the last 7 years.

7. Good background info here, I often find it relates to heroin....

http://www.turkishdailynews.com.tr/archives.php?id=17980

by Sabah's Cetin Altan:

How did Turkey get bogged down in a dark and bloody swampland of heroin and arms smuggling, a swampland in which some 17,000 "mystery murders" have been committed? Curiously, the story of Turkey's becoming caught in that swamp involves the Vietnam war. Here is my personal, "hypothetical" story, a scenario:

The hawks in the United States, who were trying to protect "decadent" South Vietnam from the Soviet type, "artificial" communism of North Vietnam, could not cope with the Viet Cong, a militia force organized by the north. That made them decide to organize in Turkey Viet Cong-type militia groups against the possibility of a Soviet attack on Turkey. These groups were to consist of civilians with a racist mentality. These people were to be given guerrilla training under the control of certain professional military men in great secrecy.

The late daily Milliyet editor in chief Abdi Ipekci had fulfilled his military service in Korea during the Korean War. He heard about the aforementioned activity through a retired commander with whom he had become friends in Korea. But he thought that this was an activity independent of Washington and of the General Staff. He assumed that this was merely certain local circles making a "domestic" attempt to seize power in Turkey. He went to Ankara where he alerted certain important people to what was going on. By doing that, he unwittingly signed his own death warrant.

Now let us discuss things which are not a "scenario." How was the militia organization called "Ergenekon" financed? The money came from certain smugglers who from time to time also took part in intelligence-gathering activities.
