DU sure wields a lot of power (or there's been a lot of coincidences lately)

I've noticed that a lot of things that get posted here by people end up on Olbermann and also on some other shows. We do certainly drive the news at times.

I think a lot of us often feel that we are just beating our heads against the wall and that we're just "little specks in this world." But sometimes just by posting a little snippet of info here you can sometimes make a difference. I can now verify it.

Thanks to places like DU and heros like Keith Olbermann..... I've posted three things in the past week and a half about Bill O'Reilly - two ended up getting on Olbermann that very evening.

A few weeks ago I posted about how Bill O. was going to be a guest speaker in my home town for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. A few days later - after all of the good DUers' here probably e-mailed like crazy - he was cancelled as the speaker.

I guess we do get heard out there sometimes and posting here can sometimes create little miracles. Just want to say thanks DU (and Keith).

Due to that, some things here most definitely get picked up where they may not have otherwise. Most of the time it is nothing more than coincidence, but I know for certain that sometimes it isn't and DU was the cause.

I'm also glad to hear about the cancellation effort. Good job!

8. Olbermann straight up takes stories and even lines from DU

He should contribute financially to DU if he doesn't, he takes so liberally. He gets so much material from here, they must realize some savings at MSNBC on writers, researchers, story hounds, etc.

Not that he shouldn't. Truth is truth and thousands of sites report similar news items. And it is great for us that we have a media member talking about some of the stories and angles so important to us.
