Rolling Stone exposes FBI and JTTF manufacturing terror.
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 08:44 PM by reprehensor
In a long-overdue exposé on the so-called "war on terror" on the homefront, RS writer Guy Lawson exposes the FBI, JTTFs, and CIA covert operatives as being overly eager to hype the threat of "homegrown terrorism" in the United States. In most cases that he examines, Federal agents are actually the most enthusiastic "terrorists" in suspected terror cells, supplying inspiration, physical means, and ideas that make potential plots even remotely plausible. When plots are completely outside the means of suspects targeted and encouraged by Federal agents, the plots proceed until arrests can be made, and then the suspects wind up plea bargaining, despite the fact that they could never pull off plots like the "JFK Terror Plot".

Federal agents have a long history in the US of infiltrating and instigating or attempting to instigate actual violence to promote a political agenda. In 2006, Rabbi Michael Lerner revealed that organizations that he was involved with back in the late 1960s were dearly compromised by agents of the state;

"At one point in my life I thought that real conspiracies were a left-wing fantasy, and that sophisticated Marxists and other social theorists would not have reason to want to acknowledge the existence of such conspiracies against the Left or against anyone else. But when I was indicted for "conspiracy and using the facilities of interstate commerce with the intent of inciting to riot" (as one of the Seattle Seven federal conspiracy trial in 1970 arising from a large demonstration against the Vietnam war and in support of Black liberation which I had organized and which turned violent when police attacked the demonstrators) I quickly learned that my organization (the Seattle Liberation Front) was totally infiltrated by police agents.

Indeed, many of those most vociferous in denouncing me and other leaders for being "too timid" were actually paid FBI informants or members of various law enforcement agencies. When one such changed his mind and began to reveal his story of having been solicited by the FBI to try to engage us in violence that would have led to some of us being killed, I really "got" that conspiracies do sometimes happen--paid for by the U.S. government." - Rabbi Michael Lerner, in 9/11 & American Empire Vol. II, Christians, Jews and Muslims Speak Out. (emphasis added)

Preceded by Federal programs like COINTELPRO, the current rush to legitimize budgets for the JTTF and associated agencies has left American citizens at the mercy of agents on a crusade, blind to objectivity, and focused on reifying "homegrown terrorism" and keeping Americans paranoid and ready to rat out their fellow citizens for practically no justifiable reasons.

This could be a stepping stone to worse abuses, like the GLADIO program in Europe during the cold war that wound up getting real people maimed and killed by agents eager to reify the "communist threat".

Arguably, the FBI has already engaged in GLADIO-like activities in the 1993 WTC bombing, and possibly, the Oklahoma City bombing.

The phenomenon of government-linked terror is not limited to the U.S.

The Australian government covered up evidence that indicates the 2002 Bali bombings were a fabricated terror event;
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4135706276167925924&hl=en

Britain's MI5 had 7/7 bombers under surveillance and were forewarned by Saudi Arabian and French intelligence that a plot involving public transit was afoot in 2005;
http://nafeez.blogspot.com/2007/10/cynical-distortion-around-77-and.html

Canada's biggest "Muslim terror plot" was heavily instigated and steered by the RCMP, with the two most important players in the plot revealed as Canadian federal agents in 2006;
http://www.muslimnews.co.uk/news/news.php?article=11880

The government of Egypt fabricated a terror group to keep public support for their terror laws in 2007;
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/7137950.stm

However, just because "everybody's doing it" doesn't mean "we" have to.

Here are some memorable sections from Lawson's very welcome article;

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/18137343/the_fear_factory

The Fear Factory
The FBI now has more than 100 task forces devoted exclusively to fighting terrorism. But is the government manufacturing ghosts?

"...For all his bluster, Shareef was, by any objective measure, a pathetic and hapless jihadist — one of a new breed of domestic terrorists the federal government has paraded before the media since 9/11. The FBI, in a sense, elevated Shareef, working to transform him from a boastful store clerk into a suicidal mall-bomber. Like many other alleged extremists who have been targeted by the authorities, Shareef didn't know that his brand-new friend —the eager co-conspirator drawing him ever further into a terror plot — was actually an informant for the FBI. ...

...The expenditure of such massive resources to find would-be terrorists inevitably requires results. Plots must be uncovered. Sleeper cells must be infiltrated. Another attack must be prevented —or, at least, be seen to be prevented. But in backwaters like Rockford, the JTTFs don't have much to do. To find threats to thwart, the task forces have increasingly taken to using paid informants to cajole and inveigle targets like Shareef into pursuing their harebrained schemes. In the affidavit sworn by an FBI special agent in support of Shareef's indictment, the co-conspirator who called himself Jameel is known only as "CS" (Cooperating Source). In fact, CS was William Chrisman, a former crack dealer with a conviction for attempted robbery who was paid $8,500 by the JTTF and dispatched specifically to set up Shareef. Like other informants in terrorism cases, Chrisman had been "tasked" by federal agents to indulge and escalate Shareef's fantasies — while carefully ensuring that Shareef incriminated himself...

...In Rockford, "Jameel" repeatedly urged Shareef to dream up gory details of the havoc they would cause at the mall. Chrisman had received a call, he told Shareef, from a man he called "Cap" —a contact willing to sell them weapons. They could buy "pineapples" —code for hand grenades —from Cap for fifty bucks each. Cap, of course, was an undercover agent. Eleven "pineapples" were available, Chrisman said. Walking around the mall —the Dippin' Dots, the Panda Express —Shareef suggested they toss the "pineapples" in garbage cans to create shrapnel. They would fast for three days beforehand. They would shave their bodies. They would meditate and pray...

...Chicago has one of the largest Muslim populations in the country —some 400,000, DeRosa estimates. "Experts say that between five and ten percent of Muslims are extremists. So you take it down to one percent. What's one percent of 400,000? Forty thousand? Technically there could be 40,000 —"

"You mean 4,000," I say.

DeRosa pauses. "Right," he says. "Four thousand." He forges on. "Most people who come to America who are Middle Eastern come for a good reason. But there's still a percentage that may be here that don't like us. They are with the extremists." ...

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

This is old news, but again I restate:
It seems funny that the CIA, FBI, and NSA are never accused of aiding a Democratic President achieve his agenda.

The CIA, FBI, and NSA are murderers, torturers, and war lovers. They are traitors to this country. Even all the way down to the janitors in the buildings. They are the antithesis of what this country stands for. They have killed in our name.
Killed, as in turning live humans into bloody dismembered cadavers to keep others in a state of terror.

They serve no good purpose. They only flatter the ego of the paranoid Republicans.

Sources say no serious plot for NYC, just hate chatter
Raw Story

Larisa Alexandrovna
Published: Friday July 7, 2006

One former intelligence field officer says, and two other CIA officials confirm, that the alleged plot by Muslim extremists to bomb the Holland Tunnel in New York City was nothing more than chatter by unaffiliated individuals with no financing or training in an open forum already monitored extensively by the United States Government, RAW STORY has learned.

The so-called New York tunnel plot was a result of discussions held on an open Jihadi web site, said Philip Giraldi, a former CIA officer and contributor to American Conservative magazine, in a late Friday afternoon conversation. Although Giraldi acknowledges that the persons involved three of whom have already been arrested in Lebanon and elsewhere - are indeed extremists," their online chatter is considerably overblown by allegations of an actual plot.

"Sources say" and the whole deal blows up. Much ado about nothing much but all in the service
of terrifying NYC and the surrounding area. What disgraceful people these are. Have any of the
primary candidates said anything about this?

Not yet, but I'm sure they'll bring this up right after they give us their position on Sibel Edmonds' allegations of State Department officials and US politicians illegally profiting from black market nuclear and arms sales and providing cover for foreign agents spying on the US.

14. US security tried to smuggle explosives into G8 meeting at Heiligendamm
The story was totally and completely buried of course and not reported in any major newspaper or by any television station:

Sources told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that US security men tested German security by trying to smuggle C4 plastic explosive past a checkpoint at Heiligendamm.

German surveillance machinery detected the tiny stash in a suitcase in a car and the Americans in plainclothes then identified themselves. German police declined comment.

http://www.eux.tv/article.aspx?articleId=9424

For a successful false flag terrorist attack, you would need three things of course:

1. The world leaders need to be informed (This seems very plausible)
2. The security team at Heiligendamm needs to be informed (Kavala: "No comment!")
3. The owners of Kempinski Grand Hotel need to be informed.

And the last part was a cute hide-and-seek as well, because the hotel was exploited by the King of Thailand, and owned by a real estate company conveniently located on Buckingham Palace Road in London who only seemed to be own one piece of real estate. And trying to find out the owners lead to immense dot-com scams run by a convicted German computer hacker (letsbuyit.com), Jersey trusts (Atlantic Waverley Trust) and Dutch sandwiches (International Finance and Equity Exchange NV) located at the Ottoman Bank with Lord Cecil Parkinson, former Chairman of the British Conservative Party (1981–1983 and 1997-1998) on the board of directors.

All kidding asside, that, as you know, was a fear factor devised for us that they did away with because none of us bought that crap. Even those that did buy into it somewhat were told to just keep on doing what you're doing, like shopping, anyway. That means it's useless and if you want to use a fear card on the people to slide your agendas through you have to make the possible threat more believable and telling people it's ok to shop didn't give credibilty to any threats.

At trial, the judge brushed aside questions about why the government was after Aref in the first place. "The FBI had certain suspicions, good and valid suspicions, for looking into Mr. Aref," he told the jury. "But why they did that is not to be any concern of yours." For their role in a conspiracy confected entirely by the FBI, both Aref and Hossain were convicted of attempting to provide material support to terrorists and sentenced to fifteen years in federal prison.

"I am just a pizza man," the bewildered Hossain said at his sentencing. "I make good pizza."

This film explores the origins in the 1940s and 50s of Islamic Fundamentalism in the Middle East, and Neoconservatism in America, parallels between these movements, and their effect on the world today. From the introduction to Part 1:

"Both were idealists who were born out of the failure of the liberal dream to build a better world. And both had a very similar explanation for what caused that failure. These two groups have changed the world, but not in the way that either intended. Together, they created today's nightmare vision of a secret, organized evil that threatens the world. A fantasy that politicians then found restored their power and authority in a disillusioned age. And those with the darkest fears became the most powerful."

Adam Curtis' documentaries are required viewing for our troubled times;

Century of the Self is also awsome;

"This series is about how those in power have used Freud's theories to try and control the dangerous crowd in an age of mass democracy." - Adam Curtis

35. The Century of the Self
And check out this snip on Google Video from another BBC documentary "The Century of the Self" describing the birth of the PR industry in the early 20th century and the use of new insights and knowledge in psychology and behavioral sciences to manipulate populations to be subservient and unquestioningly obedient to governments and corporations. The leading light (and considered by many to be the founder) of the early PR business was Edward Bearnays, the nephew of Sigmund Freud.

This 7 minute excerpt from the documentary (link in box below) explains how the suggestion by Bernays to intentionally provoke fear in the US civilian population by purposely exaggerating the dangers of the communist threat was accepted and put into effect. This was in order to make the population more malleable and less able to provide any opposition to the plans of the economic and military elites. They purposely exaggerated the thread of the "Red Menace" in the 50's and 60's, and now it appears they are using the same playbook in their "War on Terror."

Bernays was one of the engineers of the Cold War. He perfected the technique of manufacturing a distant but ever-threatening enemy and then creating a constant state of fear by generating false news reports that endlessly re-stated and exagerated the threat.

The stated purpose of Bernay's methods was to give those in power greater control over what he called "the mass mind." It worked well in the 1950s and sadly, it appears to be working quite well today... but maybe not forever.

The entire BBC documentary is posted on google video in 4 episodes of approximately 1hr each here:

36. So in the U.S. there are varieties ofcrimes and punishments
Corporate crime A.
Laws are re-written to allow non-accountability and profit shipping - no one goes to jail.

Corporate crime 5.
White collar crime - jail is a prison resort if sentenced to jail for a short time.

Terrorist crime.
Criminal doesn't go to jail because of agreement to play games for political purposes.

Insurgent crims.
No one know if a crime was committed - because of fishing and torturing for information and getting stuck with the remains of the soul-body torturee.

Security-State Dept- Pentagon crime:
Nicely paid contractors and poorly and modestly paid soldier kill voluntarily and their government lawyers create reasons to find them innocent.

Individual crimes. Serious criminals sometimes do get appropriate jail time. A most punitive jail time is assigned to a poltical game when it comes to drug crimes of a peripheral nature. The years assigned for a tiny amount of drugs is disproportionate to the billions stolen by corporations/ceo's. The set-up of a certain person to be blamed for a crime is equivalent to the focus of the article. The heinous plots to convict innocents has been ramplant. Cops who become the judge are rampant.

Political crimes: The crime in the article posted is mae worse because of secrecy and that it is paid for by unknowing citizens. It is blatantly poltical crimer, plus hate crime.

And Republicans present themselves as moral by finding ways to spread the propaganda that Democrats are immoral.

Republicans have mis-used our government for their political agenda - for too damn long.

Republicans are the aces at hate crime.
