Numerous incoming and outgoing flights at Halifax's Stanfield International Airport were cancelled or delayed. Passengers are advised to call ahead before they go to the airport. All schools in the Halifax Regional Municipality are closed, including the three French schools. Parts of southwestern and central Nova Scotia may get anywhere from five to 15 centimetres of snow, while coastal areas are experiencing freezing rain. The RCMP in Halifax are warning motorists to slow down because of slippery roads and highways. The snow and freezing rain will change to rain later Monday as temperatures rise. Environment Canada is predicting a low pressure system south of Nova Scotia will remain nearly stationary Monday before tracking northward overnight to cross eastern regions and lie north of Cape Breton on Tuesday.
