Its a Beautiful Day For A Filibuster, Do You Think We Ought To Have One?
At 4:30 this afternoon a vote is scheduled on a bill that includes immunity for the telecommunications for those crimes they committed in abetting George Bush in his illegal tapping our every electronic communicating. It is the Republicans who wish to bring this bill to a vote without further discussion or the introduction of any amendments.

If this is not acceptable to you a Filibuster IS in order. If you think immunity is OK then you should oppose a Filibuster.

It would be good if you let your Senator know how you feel about this.

The Senate will Gavel in shortly. Please contact your Senator now and let him or her know how you feel. Give 'em a little direction.

3. Can someone call their senators for me? (Like a designated driver)
My senators are like intoxicated people behind the wheel... they're harmful to the general population.

However, if someone in a more progressive state who wasn't inclined to calls their senators, it could be like giving me a voice to do some behavioral intervation and right this ship...

Of course, I'll call my own senators, but, I'm sure to only hear the sounds of bush-loving suckups who follow blindly- and not follow the voices of their electorate.

Thank you,
stuck in NC

14. here are the Dems who need to vote NO to cloture:
These Democratic Senators voted last week with Republicans to table the version of the FISA bill that excluded telcom amnesty. One of them, Sen. Rockefeller, has already said he'll vote no on cloture on this bill. That means we need to convince three other Democrats on this list to vote against cloture:

8. I just posted that McConnell is on the Floor arguing now to encourage passing
the Rockefeller/Bond amendment and be done with it.

I'm SO fervrently hoping that there will be a STRONGLY supported filibuster. I think Dodd is ready, and so am I!
