Huckster mocks Mittens removing skin from KFC
Mitt Romney took a stop off the trail Saturday, and shared a meal with his traveling press corps. The food? Colonel Sanders’ fried chicken, and biscuits. Romney, known for his healthy eating habits, however, pulled off the skin. For some Southerners, a culinary faux pas.

Today, FNC asked Huckabee, how he as a Southerner, and someone who is also known for his healthy diet(Huckabee famously lost 110 pounds) eats the calorically-colossal, but Southern gastronomic mainstay.

“Going thru the weight loss program I try to eat it more broiled, and baked but I can tell you this: any Southerner knows that if you’re not gonna eat the skin, don’t bother with calling it fried chicken,”Huckabee said through a smile.” And that’s good, I’m glad to hear that he did that because that means I’m going to win Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma- all these great Southern states that understand that the best part of fried chicken, is the skin.”

Huckabee said it reminded him of an event when he was a graduate student in San Antonio. President Gerald Ford, in what is now famously part of political folklore, ate a a tamale with its corn husk still on it, which is comparable to eating a blue crab, or lobster without taking off its shell.

WTF! Get the fuck outta this board and go somewhere else.

Huckster doesn't eat fried chicken. He eats baked chicken cause he used to have a real unhealthy diet himself.

45. I thought they only put MSG in Chinese food! As a matter of fact, I remember reading about CRS...
in, of all places, the Wall Street Journal in the 1960s.

They were describing Chinese Restaurant Syndrome -- which had given me horrible headaches for years.

I am seriously allergic to monosodium glutamate and try to avoid it.

I never eat at KFC.

57. Thank you, SidDithers. That was well worth the read and I appreciate it.
Don't think I'll die from eating the stuff, but with hypertension and a family history of heart disease, I do try to avoid it the best I can.

My only reaction is a terrible headache that lasts for almost an hour, but can be controlled with painkillers if I do happen to get it. Normally, I don't get headaches AT ALL.

Cordially,

Radio Lady in Oregon

13. Gastronomic Diplomacy Key, Says Huckabee
"When I invite them Russkies or Chineses to my little ol' place down in Arkansas," Huckabee said, dropping into vernacular, "if they don't eat the skin of the chicken, I'm gonna drop the big one on their countries. That'll learn 'em how to eat fried chicken the Amurrican way!" He chuckled and added, "Romney is too liberal to eat squirrel."

49. LOL! Huckaburger didn't go to "grad school."
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 12:48 AM by Swamp Rat
He dropped out Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (main campus is in Fort Worth, Texas). The location in San Antonio is an extension school where approx. 3 grad courses are taught per semester, so I suspect he is lying about his curriculum.

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/12/14/518108.aspx

(snip)

"I have a bachelor of arts in religion and a minor in communications in my undergraduate work. And then I have 46 hours on a master's degree at Southwestern Theology Seminary. So, my degree as a theological degree is at the college level and then 46 hours toward a masters -- three years of study of New Testament Greek, and then the rest of it, all in Seminary was theological studies, but my degree was actually in religion."

(snip)

Looks like he may be fudging the numbers too. The Masters Degree in Theology requires 24 hours, and ridiculously low entrance standards (a score of 100 on the Internet-based TOFEL for international students?!? :wtf:). Apparently he couldn't even finish the 26 hour non-thesis track... three years and 46 hours of "work," and no degree? It's not like he was attending a real, Jesuit university or something. :eyes:
