Was today's impeachment filing by Kucinich a bust?
Haven't heard a damn thing about it today. Is he going to go through with it, or did someone shoot him down?

Kucinich puts off effort to impeach Bush
Posted by Sabrina Eaton January 28, 2008 16:52PM
Categories: Kucinich
After promising last week that he'd mark President Bush's final "State of the Union" speech today by introducing articles of impeachment against Bush, Cleveland Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich announced he's postponing the effort.

Kucinich said he met with members of the House Judiciary Committee after making last week's impeachment pledge on the House of Representatives floor, and came away "hopeful there will be an inquiry by the Judiciary Committee."

"I will give them the opportunity to proceed before introducing articles of impeachment," Kucinich said in a statement issued by his office. The House Judiciary Committee's spokeswoman did not respond to The Plain Dealer's request for comment.

3. Good grief, what did you expect?
It's been more than seven years of GOP dick-sucking by the media. Did you suddenly think they'd stop just because a Dem also-ran filed some silly papers? What do you think this is, and actual free country? Shut up and get back in line, dummkopf.

18. I'm less than enthusiatic about John Edwards
I'm not sure how well his rich vs. poor act will sell with American voters in the general election. It certainly hasn't played well with Democrats so far.

24. Can't vote for what you can't see. What you're not aware of, may as well not exist.
They've done quite well against him in that regard, and are now going after his Congressional seat as well.

Looks to me that the measure of the man is the legion of those arrayed against him and his message of Democracy. You can usually detect a truth-teller by those who gather to bully them.

The lack of constructive commentary in your posts to me are confusing. (ahem)

If you want someone to fight for Democracy and for the Constitution, donate for his Congressional race. After all, we all are Democrats and are all for Democracy, correct?

None of the "remaining" candidates are for immediate impeachment. Those who do not support immediate impeachment shall have no say if BushCo manage to do more damage in their last 11 months.

Now please try to say something positive, or I won't bother to respond.

26. He was seen in over a dozen debates
If he could not gain any traction from all of those debates, he never will.

Not everybody can be the queen bee. We need more worker bees. His hometown newspaper just endorsed a primary opponent because Kucinich is too much of a lone wolf and does not work with other members of Congress on realistic legislation. Even Kucinich admits that impeachment is unlikely.

27. And then he was excluded from six debates.
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 11:31 AM by Peake
His hometown newspaper is MSM, just like the networks who excluded him.

When did anyone begin trusting the MSM again? When did anyone begin expecting the 2006 Congressional lame ducks to actually do what they promised, and what we'd asked them to do?

Dennis is seemingly the only one who is willing to act on the issues that must be acted upon.

28. He was left out of those debates because of his dismal performance in
primaries, caucuses, and polls.

You don't need to trust the MSM to see than his candidacy was a joke.

Sure, Dennis is willing to act. But we don't need his drama queen style. We need a workhorse.

17. That says more to me about the other members of our party
than it does about Kucinich. So many of them were either fooled, just went along being a good team player or were complicit in the rush to invade Iraq.

Same with the single-payer health care issue as the 2000 and 2004 platform committees told him.

And our party has said nothing about the draft Iraq Oil Law that we tried to pressure the Iraqi's to pass.

Dennis has been trying to fight the MIC, big insurance and oil companies and most people in our party remained silent.

But let's talk about what we will do for the poor and forget about all the money that goes to the bottom line line of these companies.

12. What's wrong with you impeachment people?
There's no point in impeachment. So Bush lied and the American military killed thousands upon thousands of Iraqis. BIG DEAL!!! It's not like Iraqis are really people. Every good America knows that. Killing thousands of Iraqis is no more significant than killing thousands of cockroaches.

Isn't that pretty much the line the Democratic Party is taking?

Well, at least they're not Republicans, right?

13.  No one seems to give a damn < I do
There are alot of issues and all the crimes sitting out there that were done by this Bush administration and I will bet that who ever becomes the next president will just let it all go and drop out of site .

I think about all the crap handed out by Gonzo the torture boy and all the countless lies and death and destruction in the last 7 years and it makes me sick that now all of the focus is on the next president .

It was just maybe a month ago that Bhutto was murdered but this evaporated and the Iranian Boats that was a lie but came close to sparking a war , gone in the mist .

I hate to say this but it is ironic , bush said something about history making no difference because things change so fast , something to that affect and it's sad but true .

It is just an endless stream of horror yet in a few days it's gone and on to the next thing .

Kucinich got a bad deal all the way around , he was the only one at the protests and the only one who is not afraid to speak the truth and what does he get for it , ignored and banished , silenced .

Yeah , the country will move forward while it drags all the crimes of the resent past behind it like a heavy weight that in time wears down to nothingness and then it doesn't matter who died or why or how . Same as it ever was .

23. They made no such promise, and Kucinich admitted that he did not think that impeachment would happen
this year.

Kucinich said Monday that he met with members of the House Judiciary Committee after making last week's impeachment pledge. He said he came away "hopeful there will be an inquiry by the Judiciary Committee."

"I do not believe that there will be an impeachment this year -- I don't think that will happen -- but I do think that the questions relating to an inquiry of both the president and the vice president are important so that our nation has a real understanding of the effort that was made, a consistent effort, to mislead the people into supporting a war," he said.
