When the jerk Bush** makes his entrance tonight, watch which of the Democratic "leaders"
will smile in complete admiration, fall over themselves to shake his hand or applaud like he is a great president. When the Speaker of the House greets him and introduces him, you will see the reason why we can't get any traction against his stupid policies and why he wins all the legislative positions.

9. I agree. Acting out will only make them look bad.
One thing I have never quite understood, though, is why the congresscritters fight to get aisle seats and shake the president's hand as he passes by. Both parties have always done this, regardless of who is prez at the time.

13. they fignt for aisle seats because none of them are leaders
they're good followers. I dunno maybe a couple of them could read articles I-III of the constitution and get some one like Turley to explain what Co-equal branch of government means.

14. You're right. They are also afraid to stand up to the Supreme Court when it is wrong.
They seem to forget that each branch is designed to have oversight capabilities over the other two.

2. interesting
I believe the democrats should stand and applaud when he walks in. In no way to support bush, but to support the office that it represents.

7. Wrong. The Democrats should stand, but not applaud.
That would sent a much stronger message.
But they will applaud like good little toadies just the same as if bu$h were really our duly elected President.

8. correct
that's the tradition.

He's not even announced as President Bush. He's announced to the chamber as The President of the United States.

It's about the office, not the man.

5. Oh be prepared to throw up a little in your mouth...

Nancy will be beaming and clapping and Lieberman will be on his chair and the rest of the illustrious body will be giving standing ovations until they drop.

I'm starting to get a cold, so I can't drink tonight, so there won't be any wine puke.
