1. I thought the Repukes only purged during elections?
They don't gain a real advantage in the primary.

3. there was a property tax issue to vote on
they want to change from the insane property tax to an insane
sales tax, which is even more inequitable. they'll finish killing
the schools in the process. last i heard, it was "passing." it
was important to vote. besides, why wait until the last minute.
i'm sure they have more tricks up their sleeves.

until you've handed your ballot over to some dope and have no idea
whether it will be counted, you can't have any idea how bad it feels,
i guess.

7. When I voted, the optical scanner "jammed." But the vote counted,
chirped the election official.

I cannot believe that the property tax passed by the margin it did. Everyone I talked to was voting against it.

2. I agree, I'm in West Palm. Average age of poll workers was 80 (I'm
guessing, but not far off by any means). Very slow, had to be shown by a younger worker how to process my card, waited about 7 minutes for her to find me on the ledger, etc. Anderson needs to be replaced quickly...

4. it was a younger worked who figured out i could vote provisionally
theoretically.

i'll bet this happened to a lot of people and the poll worker
couldn't figure out how they could vote at all.

gosh, i'm angry. florida is a little banana republic.

6. we have to make some calls today
we didn't vote until later last night so i'll have my husband call
today.

he has to call the election office to figure out whether they will
deign to count our vote anyway.

8. it's important to report it to the dem headquarters
and pressure them about it -- as well as local election officials.

that was very, very wrong -- but it's the dem party who should be concerned about that because of the last few election cycles there.

along with everyone else -- they have to do their jobs -- and squeaky wheels get greased.

9. i'll be sure to call them today.
it's the issue of the change that gets me. i confirmed my
registration before last year's election and it was fine.
there was no reason for the information to be updated and
yet it was changed. it seems that you'll have to check your
voter registration before every election and even then,
who knows?

thanks!

12. Is it the same Arthur Anderson that did Enron's books?
He is a crook if it is the same firm..
