Mukasey is a criminal thug, no different than Gonzales, and every bit the same as Bush.
The DOJ will continue to cover up for the war crimes of the Bush administration, as well as all their other crimes. No one will be held accountable. Not by Congress and not by that constantly repeated, so much so it's meaningless, "rule of law"

And the act of torture undermines our moral authority. and not holding the guilty accountable undermines our moral authority. and pretending we somehow would restore our moral authority by simply calling water-boarding illegal is ludicrus(afterall, waterboarding IS ALREADY FUCKING ILLEGAL)...without accountability, without holding the guilty accountable, without admitting the war crimes and doing something about them (accountability), America will NEVER regain any moral authority.

I'm not playing along with the pretending to help anyone feel better about America.

111. Question for those who are watching

Do you get the impression that congressional questioners are really, really going after Mukasey and trying to get to the bottom of the many issues being discussed, or...

...do you get the impression that this is a show, for our benefit, in which congress appears to be asking tough questions but Mukasey knows what to say because everyone in the room is in agreement that real accountability would disrupt our system too much?

Mukasey must know that his answers are, at the core, acceptable to congress. Congress may bristle publically, but if they really wanted government misdeeds exposed they could certainly do it. I think it is a show...I'm not watching this one, but I've seen many others and I've seen congressmen steer clear of the tough questions, tackle ones that are debatable, not follow up on issues, not press on obfuscation.
