40 years ago today "An Indelible Image of War"

"Forty years ago Friday, photojournalist Eddie Adams captured one history's most memorable images. The 1968 photo of a South Vietnamese officer executing a Viet Cong guerrilla on a Saigon street helped change American opinion of the Vietnam War."

2. Our generation was simply not consulted
pushed into silence and irrelevance by the ones just before and just after who grew up loving money and voting conservatives into power.

3. Hey! That's upsetting my breakfast!
You shouldn't be allowed to publish that. Someone should protect us from such upsetting images.

:sarcasm:

5. That's not the media "protecting" us ...
I think it's the military. The media would trip all over themselves to show footage more bloody than the next network. I think they're on a short leash.

7. It is all over youtube and Liveleak
they could broadcast bloody footage from both "sides". They choose not to.
