Friend just noted the Rebate was just about the price of a Wal-Mart flatscreen,
and the government should just send out vouchers. If we don't spend this money locally, on American made goods and services, it's all just a waste.

2. Most of the money will be spent locally
catching up on heating bills and credit card debt. I sincerely doubt anyone is going on a buying spree unless the kids need shoes.

7. From Vizio's website ......
The company has about 85 workers in Costa Mesa—most are customer service and tech support representatives.

Nearly all design, manufacturing and packaging is done in China, Taiwan and Mexico, making Vizio essentially a sales and marketing arm for factories abroad.

Shipping is outsourced, too.

Hmmmmm just who's economy will this tv purchase of your friends stimulate? Interesting for what it's worth, all the best and peace. :)

8. The Bidness Channel was bragging about this the other day.
I think they called it smart marketing. Walmart wants their customers to spend their rebate check at Walmart (before they even got it), and they specifically mentioned plasma teevees for the Super Bowl. And, the repubs want the Waltons to get a rebate check, too.
