Attending protests/Rallies - good or bad idea?
I may be going to a small protest tomorrow - basically, against a beauty pageant that ousted one of it's judges because she's a Wiccan. Weather permitting, of course.

My question is, is it a good idea to go to such things? Do they usually remain fairly peaceful?

1. doubt that's gonna get ugly
however what you can probably do more effectivly is write to the advertisers and sponsers of the event and show them that they are sponsering an unfair event.

2. The ones I've been to have been peaceful
Though I have never protested a beauty pageant. It's something you feel really good about doing afterwards.

6. I like small town protests..
reminds me of hanging out with friends when I was a kid. I've only had good experiences, and it makes me feel good for having done something..anything.

7. Yes, it will probably remain peaceful, and thus, ineffective. Protesting in this

manner only makes the protester feel good about themselves. That is why they more resemble a party or parade than a real, Euro-style demonstration.

They never bring about the change you say you want.
