2. I'm guessing you just watched the same late night movie I did....
Earlier tonight... "Network".

Funnily enough, as many references as I've heard to that film over the last several years (thank you Randi Rhodes!), I'd never actually seen it until tonight on TCM. It was a darn powerful and frighteningly prescient film....

As hard as the adulterous affair between Schumacher and Christensen (Christianson?) was to watch, it really provided a personal dialog to reflect a personal disintegration of morality and ethics into a public and powerful source of media's own loss of ethics and public trust through the Network's behind-the-scenes exploitation of the deranged and also disintegrating news personality Beale. Just such a sad film... But considering today's media, I find myself wondering if that actually could happen soon.

Fiction seems darn close to becoming reality of late...
