Eight of his twelve kids are still lawyers - four were disbarred in a nasty legal proceeding where they acted unethically (surprise I know!) but the other eight help keep the family covered by lawyers. Almost his entire family, and most of his flock, are lawyers who will sue for anything and everything. I suspect that Phelps is mentally ill. Reading about the history of his family, it's easy to see why. His "flock's" primary source of income is litigation, however that avenue of money making has been drying up as Phelps and (I think) two of his children have been disbarred in Kanasas and many judges are just throwing out his cases because of his family's long histsory of attacks on the judicial system itself.
