8. I doubt it. It doesn't phase the RWer's I know.
They still believe that we are the victims.

4. Eh, it's an easy number to ignore...
based as it is on one survey, which found a total number of deaths that was more than twice the previous highest estimate.

Mind you, I'm not trying to trivialize Iraqi deaths. What I am saying is that the high estimate you cite comes solely from the Sept. 2007 Opinion Research Business survey, and there is not a single other survey that comes within hundreds of thousands of that number. I'm not saying the final count of Iraqi dead won't be that high, but I do think that we don't yet have enough information to be able to say specifically that it is.

10. Yes, among others.
I mean, when it comes down to it, we are talking about a war, the break down of social order and a definite million-plus refugee count. Even if Rumsfeld had decided to carefully compile lists of Iraqi deaths instead of just piss on their graves, we still couldn't be assured of some accuracy until after some sense of order has been restored there and refugees have returned.

how do you determine if the person who didn't show up for work today is dead or fled? you can't, except in hindsight. counting civilian deaths in a war is always agenda driven and involves some serious estimating.

it may be true, there is just no way of knowing yet. you can't reasonably get data on a 1 in 27 fatality rate, there is too much damage to societies to count until people start coming home, or not, after the war.

5. This has been driving me nutz.
Tommy Franks said we wouldn't count dead Iraqis from the get go.

I've been seeing reports of over a million dead casualties for over two years.

Then many more have died.

I don't think anyone knows the real totals. But they are HUGE.

This is inhumanity and egregious sadism.

This is genocide.

This is total BS.

There is a better way.

14. I've seen and heard this number too.... but
have you noticed it's never in the MSM? I don't think most folks are even aware of it. The news only ever mentions how many of our soldiers have perished. THIS SHOULD BE FRONT PAGE NEWS, doncha think? 1,000,000 dead!!!

:(
