Ernest Hemingway.

He's dead, of course, but his cats' descendants still roam the ground in good numbers.

And handsome they are, and agile.

Some have more digits than one expects to find on cats' paws. That's how they know they are descendants of Hemingway's cats.

And not only that, one of his cats' descendants inadvertently wandered onto the set of a James Bond film -- I think Dr. No -- and may be viewed with appreciation by anyone anywhere who can rent the DVD.
