BREAKING: Jean Schmidt Got a New, "Less Severe" Hairdo
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 01:27 AM by SoCalDem
Time for a lighten up moment :)

this from : http://sparklepony.blogspot.com/

Why would anybody report this without providing pictures? Oh, cruel The Hill :

Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio) has been told she is looking younger these days with a brand new hairdo that gives her a more relaxed image. She has unraveled what used to be a tight slicked-back bun on her head and now wears her locks in a looser, more elegant style. The key to her new look: no more bows.

“It’s a new year, she wanted to try something different,” said Schmidt spokesman Ben LaRocco. “The first time I noticed it I thought she looked great.”

He added: “We’ve been getting great feedback. Don’t get me wrong, I try to be stylish but I don’t notice every detail. It was a kind of change. I don’t know whether it’s going to go back or what. She makes that decision every day. I’m not part of the decision process. I don’t pick out her outfits, either.”

From last week.. I see no difference

Please, Hill Pony Pals! We MUST HAVE photos!

UPDATE: Pony Pal Supreme™ Fritz sends along the following from his mighty CSPAN archive:

And that's from January 29, so unless Mean Jean got her hair cut yesterday (possibly!), then I'm not buying this "less severe" business. I mean... is it just shorter and puffier in the back? I don't get it.

1. Now all she needs is a brain and heart, and she's good to go.
I hope Dr. Wulsin smashes her in their upcoming Congressional race.

9. She needs courage, too...
...if she wants to continue working in the minority. To strain the metaphor further, I would have expected her to have clicked her heels and disappeared by now, having narrowly excaped being crushed under the Democratic House.

10. Hi, Orsino. Yes. Are you in her district? I have kinfolk there and they
would love to see Dr. Wulsin just put the hurt to Mean Jean.

13. Mean Jean is typical of the impotent "four legs good" Republicans...
...who have prospered through the last Congresses, rubber-stamping each other's contributors' wet dreams. She has shown no strength of character, either, and I have fully expected her to announce that she will not seek reelection.

But no, she's not one of my "representatives," and I know no one personally who lives in her district.

15. Well, we should both thank our lucky stars that she isn't representing us
in the Congress, and I pity those who are.

It would be good if she stepped aside, although even if she doesn't, I'm hoping Dr. Wulsin can mobilize and whip her no matter what.

Why isn't there more news of Jean on this board???

Maybe if she put a bag over her head she'd look less mean.

18. A note about sexist language from the DU rules
members should avoid using ... sexist ... or otherwise bigoted terminology. This includes gender-specific terms such as ... "skank," ...

If you could avoid sexist/bigoted language on DU, it would be much appreciated. Even if you are talking about a woman you don't like. And I will refrain from using racist language - even when talking about a person I don't like. That's reasonable, right?

23. Nope, no thanks. I'll speak my mind like it or not.
If you're so easily offended I recommend staying in you nice, warm bed all day. Never come out into the real world. I haven't seen the free-speech police at my door today, and I doubt they'll come if you call them. Put me on ignore, and we'll get along just fine... And if you're really looking to be "offended", let me know and I'll come by and fart in your dinner for ya.

25. I don't have a problem with you speaking your opinion
so long as you aren't using this forum to do it when those opinions are sexist or racist or homophobic.

It's not enough for people to ignore bigotry when they see it. It's something we should be speaking out against. So no, I won't be taking your recommendation to ignore you when you use bigoted terms. I view that as you trying to manipulate people by bullying/insulting them, so you can be allowed to speak in sexist terms without ever being called on it.

she'll always have the image of a Buchenwald guard pushing Jews into the gas chamber.
Is Jean Schmidt the illegitimate daughter of Ilsa Koch?
