"Senator Mikulski's office..."
HH: Hello, what is the senator's position on the ex-post facto provisions in the FISA renewal?

SS (Senator's Staffer): Thank you, I'll be sure to pass that along to the Senator.

HH: Um, that was a question, not a statement.

SS: Oh, the Senator support the Intelligence committee version with limited immunity...

HH: Ok, I'm familiar with that version, please tell the Senator that I'm once again sorely disappointed with her position.

SS: I'll be sure to pass that on...

Yeah, sure you will. I doubt she will listen.

1. Same with Senator Ben Cardin...
He voted to end the filibuster along with Mikulski.

3. i'm very disappointed in them too
I used to really like Mikulski. No more -- her FISA vote the last time was inexcusable. Never much cared for Cardin either (voted the same as Babs), he used to be my House rep..

Time for some fresh blood.

Maryland is pretty establishment democratic. Wish we had more progressive candidates. John Sarbanes (who occupies Cardin's old House seat) has good potential. (Yes, that's Paul's son.)

7. I voted for John. But I'm not entirely happy with him.
He seems to be going the way of his dad Paul "play it safe" Sarbanes. keep quite and vote with the crowd. What it comes down to is that if they don't nail Bush & Cheney afetr they leave office. Everyone must go. Babs, Ben, John. All of them.
