Touchscreen problem in Arkansas

Wouldn't you know it
Lisa Burks of Conway, who's even more suspicious of touch-screen voting machines than I am, reports that she didn't get a proper printed confirmation of her vote on one of the infernal things today. Faulkner County election officials are going to rue the day they put these stinkers out for use by Ms. Burks. She contends that, without the confirmation, it's uncertain her vote was recorded. She wasn't allowed to cast another vote.

2. last election here in ok we still got a ballot
but they are counted on an optical scan machine of whose name I'm ashamed to say I don't know, and they have the recount cost to be so high here in ok as to make it next to impossible to have a recount per precinct, so I'm always suspicious.

3. Op-Tech makes them...I have never had any reason to suspect they're not accurate & fair

have you?

edit: I just put my ballot into the one at our precinct about 20 minutes ago...I have seen the machine kick them out
if someone has mutilated it (overvote, extraneous marks, etc)

5. I'm glad to hear that because around here we locally always go with a dem
but when we get to the senate and house and president our vote seems to switch to the :puke: party. I haven't went to vote yet, just waiting for the lady to get home and we're going down then.
wheww

4. An audit would be good enough if the ballots are secured
and a sufficient number of ballots were audited. That should be the standard.
