With 5 (or more) cables cut in the last week, the folks who dismiss the idea that this was done on purpose point to the fact that much of Iran still has Internet access. But with the non-dollar Iranian Oil Bourse set to open in the next week, one has to wonder if this won't put a damper on the effectiveness of the Iranian operations.

2. The US benefits.
The oil bourse has been propping up the USD; the Iranian competing bourse may be the last nail in the dollar's coffin.

3. Then it's probably us, don't you agree?
I wonder what they hope to accomplish other than postpone the inevitable.

Maybe we'll see Air Force One and Air Force Two winging their way to Paraguay before the repairs are complete.

4. Here's the best theory I've heard: The cut cables force the Iranian Internet traffic...
through US and British servers...

...

The region has now been mostly patched up with connectivity however is now even more reliant upon another undersea cable to Britain and the USA.
