Apologies for dropping this in GD... Milwaukee and Waukesha are suspending transit services

"MCTS is stopping all bus service at 5:30 p.m. this evening, February 6, 2008 due to heavy snow. Out of concern for public safety we do not want to encourage people to travel in this weather. The slippery conditions are causing buses to become stuck, so we are suspending service."

Just heard that Waukesha is following suit...

Don't be standing out in this at a bus stop thinking a bus is coming, cuz it won't be by until tomorrow morning.

I'm not sure what the official total is at this point.

Not being a regular bus rider I have no idea when the last time the buses were suspended. Generally, they make it through whatever nature throws at them.

3. Madison Metro is stopping service at 7pm tonight

Though most of our buses were actually stuck in snowdrifts or on inclines by 4pm...
