Amnesty International Calls for Criminal Investigation

<snip>
"Waterboarding -- where detainees are subjected to simulated drowning -- is torture. Torture is a crime under international law," said Rob Freer, Amnesty International's researcher on the United States. "Yet, no one has been held accountable for the authorization and use of waterboarding by U.S. personnel."

At the same congressional hearing, the Director of National Intelligence, Mike McConnell, said that waterboarding could again be used by the CIA in cases approved by the U.S. President and the Attorney General.

"It has become clear in recent years that the U.S. administration has interpreted U.S. and international law in ways that have sought to avoid the absolute prohibition of torture and other ill-treatment and that have facilitated impunity for human rights violations," said Freer.

3. Torture is un-American
The practice of torture is not only un-American, it is counter-productive to military moral and success. How'd you like to be a soldier in combat, therefore subject to capture by an enemy who knows your country not only practices torture, but made it legal ??

American should lead by example. Military and political leaders responsible for water-boarding should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

What's Hillary and Baruck's position on this issue? Anybody know ??
