healthcare and voting against your needs.
I'll bottom line this: I work with one guy that has a child that's been a quadrapelegic since age 12, he's 23 now. The guy, not the kid, thinks that taxpayers shouldn't pay to have government single payer healthcare. I told him, he should be ashamed of himself, because "we" have been paying for all the care his child has gotten since it started, and that without liberals, he may as well send his kid off to die somewhere.

Was I wrong to do this? What is a better way to beat him without using his kid as a stick? Or should I just hit him harder?

Oh, one of the other guys I work with has diabetes, a bad shoulder, a bad leg, and no insurance but constantly complains about the Democrats wanting to have universal health insurance. Can I have a bit of help in knocking him down. He is now in collection for the past episode on is shoulder, eegs and all that cost money and the doctors want it. They're getting ready to lein his home.

2. That sucker punch to the gut didn't make you a lifelong friend
but it might be what that first fool needs to start to wake the hell up. If he ever speaks to you again, remind him that single payer is ALWAYS cheaper than for profit health care, and that his take home paycheck will go UP.

The second guy is just plain stupid. He's never going to get it, not even when some hospital dumps him out of the ER and onto Skid Row clad only in a backless hospital gown.

3. people will vote against their own best interests time and time again. Your reply
to the man with the disabled child was spot on. Regarding the uninsured who is obviously too well employed to qualify for Medicaid, is going to be knocked down by circumstances, but if he started ranting on the Universal Health care I wouldn't be able to resist stating that universal health care would have not only covered his medical care but might have given the right kind of preventative care.

4. You could kindly point out to him
that if we had a system like the one in Canada, he wouldn't be facing losing his home. That doctors there are in private practice-they are always assured of payment because the government pays them. A lot less paperwork, too, which means a lot less stress on the MDs. Have him watch "Sicko" if he would, too.
