4. The NCAA needs to come down hard on this..

they need to have zero tolerance for this kind of behavior. Some years back the University of Virginia pep band was disbanded for this type of thing. They should ban all students from the next two home games. They really need to take a hard line.

14. unfortunately, this happens at the high school level too

my son plays varsity basketball and our community is a multi-racial, working class mixture in the valley. we play against a few schools in the sierra foothills (read: white) and my son has recounted that he has had the "n" word hissed at him several times from the sidelines (he's biracial). also, during football games, there have been kids from the other schools in afro wigs and face paint. the sierras has a reputation of guys driving in pickups with gunracks and rebel flags, but it astounds me that they are still allowed to get away with this in 2008! :mad:
