Can you love your fellow man?
Do you want to?

Or would you rather assure that he have easy access to weapons that can destroy life from a good distance away?

Can you love yourself?

I hope so.

3. Love's a funny word
because you love someone sexually, you love your children, you love chocolate brownies, you love that new car smell. It's hard to say you love total strangers in the world, especially when they don't fit the norm for looks or behavior or they have annoying habits or they smell bad.

Personally, I'd prefer respect from my fellow humans, a recognition that I've earned the right to my white hair and my big rump and my opinions. I promise I will return that respect 100%. Even if I am sorely tempted to tell you what is wrong with your life and how you should fix it, I'll wait until I'm asked for my opinion.

Mutual respect might be superior to mutual love. We'd no longer have moralists bullying us because they "love" us. We could do away with the nanny state laws that punish truly victimless crimes like casual drug use and prostitution and regulate both for safety. I know I could well do without all that "love" from religious busybodies who want to save a soul I don't believe in from a hell I don't believe in.

From them, love appears to be just another four letter word.

6. Sure, which is WHY I support his right to self-defense, and the best means to employ that right.

I love me, my kids, and my family too, which is why I also choose to take advantage of the basic right to arms, to better secure our right to life (and liberty).

It is scary that there are those who would deprive their fellow man of his most natural rights of self-defense and the protection of his liberties, just for the disillusion of their own safety. Tyranny at its worse, because it comes not only from those in power, but from among us.

Also scary that some can SAY they love their fellow man, without really respecting him or trusting him to make his own choices and take on his own responsibilities.
