Why don't the Democrats ever bring up that fact that 9/11 happened on Bush's watch?

Why don't the Democrats ever bring up that fact that 9/11 happened on Bush's watch?
I know some of them do but the mainstream Democrats and not any Presidential candidate in 2004 and now. I never hear them put the blame where it truly belongs, Bush. I do not want this to degenerate into a MIHOP/LIHOP thread because that is not my intention. I just want to know why, when Romney and McCain and others say that if we elect a Democrat there will be another terrorist attack, the Democrats do not return with "Well the last one happened on Bush's watch".

Why are they so cowed?

2. Dunno. Why didn't Kerry play "The Pet Goat" video after being swiftboated?
I think it's not any great overarching corruption, but rather an attitude among establishment Democrats that you "don't sink to their level," as if that's been such a great, winning, national strategy.

I GET the idea, but I don't think it works. That's all.

5. There are a lot of
things that the Dem's never use to their advantage. Just about every talking point or slogan that you hear could be countered, but it seldom happens. Its almost as if they (Dem's) are content to let the RePukes frame everything which keeps the Dem's on the defensive, something that they don't seem to be very good at.

9. Maybe they think that if they give the Republicans enough rope
they will hang themselves. But it doesn't really happen. Democrats are so afraid of being called "soft on terror" that they do not fight back. They (by and large) have allowed the Bush administration to violate our civil rights repeatedly because of it also.

I wonder if any of this will really change if a Democrat is elected. Will the roll back all the power grabs Bush has made? I somehow do not think so.

22. "The smart are always full of doubt while the dumb are always dead sure."
A right-winger will spew any kind of bullshit to get things done his way. A liberal is more likely to think first wether the stuff he says is actually true and accurate. Gives the right-wing dumbass more time to spew more bullshit. Sad but true. Not sure what could be done about it.

6. The networks would marathon about how awful the Ds were for politicizing 9-11
It wouldn't matter that Gi9ul1ia1ni does it 24-7.
THe networks would beat the Ds to death for it.

we just can't win. The media decides who the front runners are and what message gets out.

8. Because
My Pet Goat not withstanding, most of the public thinks Bush's actions right after 9/11 were good. They still approve of Afghanistan.
So rather than remind them of when they liked Bush, it is much better to attack the Repukes on Iraq and Katrina.

10. But they keep claiming that electing Democrats means there will be another terrorist attack.
And that accusation is NEVER answered.

I personally think Afghanistan was a waste of time and lives as well, since Bin Laden is probably in Pakistan, who is an "ally".

17. I keep forgetting about that
It's funny how they targeted only Democrats or news outlets (which some on the right claim are all "liberal").

Either some right-wing nutcase capitalizing on fear or it was an inside job.

18. The last SEVERAL terrorist attacks happened on Bush's watch
9/11 and the series of anthrax attacks.

Of course all of them are really unsolved. No real investigation into 9/11 and a completely dead "investigation" into the anthrax attacks.

24. For the same reason * didn't declare a War on Hurricanes...
...or on tsunamis. When there's someone to blame directly, vengeance is job one, and we haven't finished avenging the 9/11 dead yet.

Demonizing The Other is much more fun, and politically profitable, than is actually solving problems.
