Rush Limbaugh: "Dick Cheney Is My Hero!"
In all my years on DU this has got to be the most absurd, freakish, most pathetic article I have ever seen:

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: My hero, Dick Cheney, is back. The highest levels of the administration are not backing down. He was on Good Morning America today from Sydney, Australia. Correspondent Jonathan Karl again talking to him. Question: “The speaker of the House was so upset about your comment that she called the White House to complain.” But Cheney did not back down.

CHENEY: I'm not sure what part of it is that Nancy disagreed with. She accused me of questioning her patriotism. I didn't question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment. Al-Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That's their fundamental underlying strategy. My statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that we will validate the strategy of Al-Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it. And I'm not backing down.

RUSH: My hero, not backing down. Nancy Pelosi, not referring to her as Speaker Pelosi, just referring to her as Nancy. You know, girl's gone hormonal. Next question from Jonathan Karl. Get this. “But hasn't our strategy been failing? Isn't that why the president has had to come out with a new strategy?”

CHENEY: A failed strategy. Let's see. We didn't fail when we got rid of Saddam. We didn't fail when we held elections. We didn't fail when we got a constitution written. They’re all

President Bush expressed personal concern about Limbaugh's condition with senior staff.

"The president noted Rush Limbaugh is a national treasure," one senior White House staffer told the Drudge Report.

"I tell people don't kill all the liberals, leave enough around so we can have two on every campus; living fossils, so we will never forget what these people stood for."

-Rush Limbaugh

"There's nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods, which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.

What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."

Did Rush Limbaugh Get Off Easy in OxyContin Case?

Rebecca Riddick

Daily Business Review

May 3, 2006

While critics say conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh got off easy in his deal last week with Palm Beach County prosecutors to avoid drug charges, some legal experts say the settlement was a fair one for a first-time drug offender.

But other experts say Limbaugh, 55, avoided prosecution as a result of an aggressive, high-priced legal fight by his attorney, Roy Black of Miami. Black challenged prosecutors' effort to obtain Limbaugh's medical records and took that fight all the way to the Florida Supreme Court.

hillbilly heroin (HIL.bil.ee hayr.oh.in) n. Slang nickname for the prescription painkiller OxyContin, which is said to produce an effect similar to heroin.

Matthew 5:32

But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

WEST PALM BEACH -- Rush Limbaugh, the Palm Beach-based conservative talk radio icon, announced Friday that he is getting another divorce.

It was the third marriage for both Limbaugh, 53, and his 44-year-old wife, Marta, a native of Jacksonville. Limbaugh's latest marital difficulties come while he is under investigation by Palm Beach County prosecutors over allegations of illegal doctor-shopping for painkillers.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., June 27, 2006
(CBS/AP) Rush Limbaugh could see a deal with prosecutors in a long-running prescription fraud case collapse after authorities found a bottle of Viagra in his bag at Palm Beach International Airport. The prescription was not in his name.

Limbaugh's doctor had prescribed the Viagra, but it was "labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes," Roy Black, Limbaugh's attorney, said in a statement.

Genesis 38:

9And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.

10And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.

3. Do you ever ponder what kind of mind (or thinking) would allow some
one to believe Dick Ch*ney is a hero and Rush L*mbaugh a national treasure?

Nevermind.....don't go there, it's terrifying.

4. I sometimes wonder if Limbaugh is the only voice Bush hears,

i.e. if this crap is spoon fed to as "what Americans really think, Mr. President." His cheerleading for Cheneythink and his constant sneering and ridicule about any anti-war elements could surely help prop up our "leader's" distorted views.

7. Rush is an act
Please remember that. If it is so outrageous that it makes
your blood boil, Rush will say it.

The sad thing is that just like many of Ann Coulter's mad
remarks his fans take it as "real."

Rush is a a closeted man who is playing the role of a lifetime.

8. Well, it depends which metric you use
to define your successes dick, .... if deposing Saddam, orchestrating elections and basically writing their constitution for them all led to ever increasing bloodshed, mayhem and an insurgency that will outlive most of us, (and all indications affirm that sentiment) then your strategy has been wildly successful. But that's what your real mission is after all, isn't it?
P.S. May you be the first VP ever to have an approval rating in the single digits.

18. What an evil nutter!!!
It's one thing to be a Republican I suppose, but to admire CHENEY? He might as well say that he worships Satan.

And the level of sexism in 2007 makes my jaw drop to the floor. I'm glad he's not a major figure in the UK - and I thought the Daily Mail was bad!

19. "Rush likes Dick"
You missed such a wonderful subject line opportunity.

In all seriousness, I think we do have to just accept the fact that there is always going to be that 30% who think the neocons are chosen by God to lead the world in the beginning of the "last" millenium and anyone who disagrees is unworthy of even the slightest respect or dignity or even life itself.
