Rice: "impossible to distinguish what is going in Iraq from the larger fight against al-Qaida"
Feb. 25, 2007, 8:46AM

Rice: Congress shouldn't micromanage war (or the man who sent over 3,374 American soldiers to their death in Iraq)

WASHINGTON — Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Sunday it would be a mistake for Congress to micromanage the Iraq war and she encouraged lawmakers to support President Bush's troop increase.

"I would hope that Congress would recognize that it's very important for them to have the oversight role," Rice said. "But when it comes to the execution of policy in the field, there has to be a clear relationship between the commander in chief and the commanders in the field."

Rice said it would be a major mistake to disrupt the chain of command.

"Then you're going to have the worst of micromanagement of military affairs. And it's always served us badly in the past," she said.

Rice said it is impossible to distinguish what is going in Iraq from the larger fight against al-Qaida.

"Some of these car bombs may indeed be the work of an organization like al-Qaida," she said of the violence that continues to rock Baghdad.

"I think it's best to leave the flexibility of what to do on the ground to commanders on the ground who understand the situation, who understand the intricacies and the relationship among these various tasks that the American armed forces have to do," Rice said.

1. Rice has lost all credibility. I laugh when I hear her quotes, and I'm sure
I'm not alone. For starters, she's lied so much, who can trust anything that spews from her yapper?

who, by the admission of 16 intelligence agencies, is the byproduct of Bush's occupation.

They want us to ignore their own malfeasance in capturing the original suspects in the 9-11 attacks which were the main objects of the original authorization for the use of force resolution passed in the wake of the attacks; the same resolution which Bush claims gives him extra-constitutional powers to wiretap, detain, and wage war.

What Rice and Bush want to do is merge the Iraq resolution and the original 9-11 resolution to blur their own incompetence in carrying out ANY of the two resolutions' intentions.

The generals are just telling it like it is. Bush hears them, and he hears the rest of Americans, but he's turned his back as he "decides" our "way forward" into his Iraq muck.

WASHINGTON - Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice finds Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record) appealing and says it won't be much longer before race isn't a barrier to becoming president.

8. This dumb ass "B" would lie
if xmas fell on Jan.25th. None of these idiots in the WH, senate and the congress have any ideal of who the US is fighting, ( SHITES, SUNNIS, IRAQ'S, AL QUEDA ). Why are we engaged in a war made up on lies, deceit, denials and no clear identity of who we're fighting nor agenda of success?

10. Why would anybody believe one word from her?
"But when it comes to the execution of policy in the field, there has to be a clear relationship
between the commander in chief and the commanders in the field."

That is a bald faced lie .... numerous commanders in the field have been fired or have had
to quit because the Commander in Chimp refused to listen to them.

13. So, it is she/they broke it, we need to fix it? If so, they need to get out of the way!
It is clear that those who blundered us into this catastrophy don't have the smarts to have any idea of what to do next. They need to resign, step aside, whatever...just please leave - so that the Dems can start fixing things!

It wouldn't accomplish their goals, whatever those are that they have cooked up at the latest Mad Hatter tea party.

19. Congress should listen carefully to what she says...
...then as close as possible, do the exact opposite of what she recommends.

Of course the terms "micromanagement" and "disrupt the chain of command" are talking points they have cooked up to sound good and divert the real issues, two of which are: (a) this war has been poorly managed at every level, and the effects were magnified because there was no oversight; and (b) the chain of command has not provided for the soldiers under their command, giving them substandard equipment in the field and substandard longterm care for the injured back home, and redeploying them at will with little concern for their welfare. And let's not get started about where the money actually has gone (hint: Halliburton is among the big beneficiaries of these policies). This is about strategic management, and about giving the troops more, not less. Let's see if our side can for once get those points across.

In any case, Condi is a woman who is hollow to the core. Zombified. Great at gobbledygook. Still trying to warn Congress, in her patented schoolmarm/dominatrix manner, about what "I would hope" that they do, or do not do, wrt the ongoing occupation of Iraq. Only no one is listening to her anymore.

Hey, maybe Rich Little can riff on some of her gelatinous, platitudinous prose at the White House Correspondents' Dinner this year. Would love it if he got up there and put the final nails in the coffin for the crew at the White House! That would be fabulous, to have "safe" Rich Little take up where Colbert left off last year!

Oh well, a girl can dream on a Sunday morning, eh?

20. No one could have predicted....

On: "Rice said it is impossible to distinguish what is going in Iraq from the larger fight against al-Qaida."

http://www.jainworld.com/education/juniors/junles19.htm

Once upon a time, there lived six blind men in a village. One day the villagers told them, "Hey, there is an elephant in the village today."

They had no idea what an elephant is. They decided, "Even though we would not be able to see it, let us go and feel it anyway." All of them went where the elephant was. Everyone of them touched the elephant.

snip

The moral of the story is that there may be some truth to what someone says. Sometimes we can see that truth and sometimes not because they may have different perspective which we may not agree too. So, rather than arguing like the blind men, we should say, "Maybe you have your reasons." This way we don’t get in arguments. In Jainism, it is explained that truth can be stated in seven different ways. So, you can see how broad our religion is. It teaches us to be tolerant towards others for their viewpoints. This allows us to live in harmony with the people of different thinking. This is known as the Syadvada, Anekantvad, or the theory of Manifold Predictions.

Nice try Condisleeza! So which delusion are you morans going to react to (or not) next? Most of America knows that the 16 words in the SOTU were lies! We've got a more than rough idea you were trying to "kill the messenger" and perhaps also disarm the means to prove a conspiracy to create this shock and awesome ELEPHANT in the room. LIHOP/MIHOP - Al Queda). Your credibility has run its deceptive course. BRING 'EM HOME!
