It ain't pretty. Most functions are turned off, and pictures are turned off, and everything looks crappy, almost like Free Republic. I'm hoping Skinner doesn't even have to hit that far during Election Day, but if it's a victory, it'll be worth it.

'04 and '06 elections veterans will attest to that fact.

1. DU could never look like freakerville.
You'd have to wash it in hot water, wring it out by hand and run it over repeatedly with a semi to even begin to get the look.

lol

4. Sadly, FR is more accessible than DU
Edited on Wed Feb-13-08 01:05 AM by dmesg
That's always bugged me, but FR is more accessible to blind users than DU is. There are too many suit-wearing morons out there who forget that the Web is ultimately a textual medium, and not another chance to send out print designs.

7. I am sadly ignorant of the measures that a web site can take
Edited on Wed Feb-13-08 01:01 AM by sfexpat2000
to accomodate blind users.

I was only speaking as a sighted person who once visited that other place. It's so dreadful. If you found it in a parking lot, you'd have it towed.

8. Oh, certainly FR's designer needs to be flogged at four bells
Though screen-reader accessibility is about more than visually impaired persons; any site that is good for the blind is also good for those on cell phones, those aggregating through RSS, etc.

12. Oh, for God's sakes... You've got to be kidding!

On edit, I hadn't realized you were referring to accessibility for the blind. On that, I can't comment, but if so, perhaps you could discuss with Skinner.

And they managed to kill their accessibility

2. We damn well will need it for election day.
And we will glory in it.

As long as we don't crash altogether.

Having said that, I will go back to being depressed.

14. When the nomination is decided, it will only be a DOS prompt.
But it will still work.
