Poll question: Would you be happier if you just gave up on politics?
I advise against it, and I personally am unable to. But what about you?

1. In the short term, perhaps.
In the longer term, if I join the apathetic hordes, totalitarianism comes sooner.

2. I would be happier
but I can't stand not knowing what is going on and trying to influence what is happening in my own little way. I could end up a lot worse off down the road if I don't keep an eye on what is going down now.

6. It's akin to walking with traffic along the side of the road versus against it...
I'd rather I knew when I was about to be broadsided.

7. The way things are going...
it may come to that. I think the country has already passed the point of no return.

8. What about civilization?
Lately giving up on all of it seems like the best choice, for me.

9. No, but ...
I'd be a lot happier with it if we could get rid of the mean-spirited viciousness. It's really bad and just turns me off from the process. I've been here for a few years now and don't recall it ever being this bad, even during other elections.

10. well

I would be very much happier at the present time if politics were more gratifying to my point of view - I keep thinking the tide will turn and things will change ... some politician will represent the interests of the citizens and not just the corporations. My efforts seem to make no difference (not that I'll stop trying).

I firmly believe that Democrats will continue to gain ground and a stronger majority so someday soon things will change and then politics will make me much happier. :D I wouldn't want to miss that.
