1. We will see if Nancy Pelosi folds next or actually grows a spine and fights telecom immunity.
The House version of the bill didn't have telecom immunity, if I recall.

3. Them's bettin' words...
I'll give you 100 - 1 odds. A spectacular virtual $1000 from me if she caves and a lousy virtual $10 from you if she doesn't.

A virtual handshake on it?

4. The only thing you can depend on Nancy to do is continue enabling the neocons.

5. Why wouldn't it pass?
Oh yeah right, I'm gonna scare 'em with an e-mail. The American people have gone along with illegal war, torture and war profiteering and our congress critters know it. What's the M$M reporting, discussing - steroids and Natalie Holloway. Just the way we like it.

6. What is sad is that we are arguing telecommunications immunity
over what should be a clear-cut case of

UNCONSTITUTIONALITY!!!

And :WTF: are the Dems not realizing this...?

7. I think that's always been the dance of our country, codified in the Constitution.
And it's always been a tug of war of sorts - the rights and obligations of the individual 'balanced' with the rights and obligations of the Federal government.

I'm really disappointed in some of the FISA votes, as they represent the voice of Congress in the Federal scheme of things and a real slice at the 4th Amendment. The 4th is a basic cornerstone of that tug of competing interests that is our Constitutional government. Yet I don't think this game is over. Far from it. We will have another Congress and another President and another shot at restoring the damage done.

(aside) Equally disconcerting to me are the slew of signing statements, detailing an intent to ignore good legislation passed by Congress, this President has chosen to throw down. Those, though, can be removed in due course by a Democratic President.

I like the dance, as awkward and divisive as it has been at times. The writers of the Constitution crafted this conflict into our national agenda. It's served us well, imho. I intend to work, as an individual, to see that it continues to do so.
