Poll question: Daily Show or Colbert Report?
I lean toward the Daily Show, my wife much prefers Colbert. Just curious to see how the male/female vote breaks down...

(I'd add "Don't tase me, bro!" but this is an official scientific poll. It'll be in Newsweek.)

:P

1. I prefer the Daily Show because...
...Stephen Colbert is sooooo good at playing a blow hard that sometimes I just don't find it that entertaining.

4. I voted Daily Show
Sometimes Colbert bothers me - his strident persona cuts too
close to the bone at times. It depends on my mood. No matter
what mood I'm in, I loves me some Daily show.

7. 2 different formats, it's like comparing Monty Python's flying circus to Fawlty towers.

8. Really hard to choose, but went with Colbert, and am male
Stewart is great, especially at irony, and I think he's much better at asking serious questions of the type no real interviewers would dare, and yet making it humourous, but Colbert is closer to my own view nowadays, which is that so many of these people (establishement media, politicians, RW columnists) are so fucking ridiculous if you take a close look, that all they deserve is to be skewered on their own petard.

BTW, I happen to be wearing a "Don't tase me, bro" t-shirt that I got to give someone else when it was the rage , but didn't get a chance to until the joke was long since rendered unfunny by time (a couple hours later), so perhaps I should be disqualified from voting.

9. Female who prefers the Colbert Report here
Edited on Wed Feb-13-08 05:13 PM by nam78_two
But then so does my fiance who is male-so we are a Colbert household :)...
Not by a whole lot though-I still love TDS....I love Stewart's stuff almost as much as Colbert's. It is just -I find that some of the others on TDS have routines of uneven quality imo.
