Not ONE Member of the Bush Extended Family Has Served in Iraq
From Buzzflash.com

"Not one -- not one -- of any of Bush's children or his nieces and nephews have volunteered for service in any branch of the military or volunteered to serve in any capacity in Iraq. Not one of them has felt the cause was noble enough to put his or her life on the line.

If Iraq is such an "honorable" cause, how come not one -- not one -- of Bush's extended family has joined the military to fight there? Not one.

Same for Cheney's family.

Bush and Cheney were cowards who avoided service in Vietnam, sending other men to die for them. Now, they've made elitist craven "warmongering" a family affair."

11. Importantly ... the British Royal Family
... had nothing to do with their country entering into the Chimp's fiasco. Yet they do as they have in the past: make sacrifices along with the English people.

They wouldn't want to dirty their hands or their beautiful minds.

12. I have read that they have never served society in any capacity
they have never produced a preacher, scientist, engineer, doctor, philosopher, a custodian or a teacher--at least not until one of the twins--and did that twin ever spend a day in the classroom after her student teaching days? Why would we expect them to serve in the military--they don't serve.

15. You're right, none of them have served
After Jenna graduated from UT with an English degree, she said was going to become a teacher. The Washington Post reported that she briefly became a teacher's aide at a D.C. charter school.

As a public school teacher, it offends me that her brief stint as a teacher's aide qualifies her to be called a "former teacher".

16. I couldn't remember if it was Jenna or Not-Jenna
but I knew that she hadn't taught. The thought has occurred to me that teacher's aide might be the kind of community service one would be assigned if one was in trouble with the law (say, for public drunkeness) but came from a rich and powerful family.

13. well, what's your point?
no-one in my extended family has served. Granted, I didn't start the war, but that is really immaterial. Whether anyone from his family has served means nothing. He's just as bad regardless of whether a nephew or second cousin has gone.

looks like maybe 100 people.

I don't know how many have served in Iraq, but in 3.5 years with about 150,000 there for six month or greater stints, that's a generous estimate of about a million who have been in country. It's probably more like 500,000, I imagine.

But even at a million - we have 300 million people in this country. That's three million 100-person extended families. So at the outside, 1 in three 100-person extended families has had someone serve.

There is enough evidence to impeach and jail him and his cohorts. This factoid is irrelevant. Sure, it is something to rub salt in the wound, but making issues over stuff like this is comparable to "them" trying to make an issue over Pelosi's plane. Ultimately it is defused, and you end up looking like a whiner.

19. Who Served?
Lots of talk from neocons about courage and sacrifice. They scorn dissenting war heros as cowards. Yet almost none of them has ever served.

This site tells who served and who didn't. With rare exceptions, the biggest warmongers are ones who have never served. Go figure.

For what it's worth, I have nothing against those who have not served in the military. I wouldn't have if I hadn't been drafted. But don't go preaching about what a fine and noble thing war is, and don't lecture me about courage and sacrifice, if neither you nor any of your extended family is willing to step up.

I don't think it is an act of bravery when you send other peoples' sons and daughters into combat.
