WOW. I don't believe what my REPUBLICAN aunt just said.
There was a show on TV about soldiers in Iraq, and she said:

"Look at them now crying like babies wanting to come home."

:wow: :puke:

3. Our troops are weary of suffering and dying for republion oil profits
Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 07:45 AM by SpiralHawk
Our sons and daughters in uniform long ago figured out that Bush & cronies lied about WMD, and everything else.

They are weary of following a National Guard Deserter like Commander AWOL Bush
and VP Dickie 'Five Military Deferments' Cheney.

They realize that the 9/11 terrorists were almost all Saudi Arabians, Bush's intimate oil cronies. And that not one 9/11 terrorist was from Iraq or Afghanistan.

They are sick of the republicon oil-crusade lies.

Who can blame our soldiers (other than your kool-aid-ingesting aunt) for wanting to return to their families in the USA (not some stinking, fascist republicon homeland)?

The troops in Iraq are cowardly crybabies? Even heavy antiwar folks don't believe that!

Your aunt sounds like an unpleasant person. Why are you watching TV with her? No choice, I assume.

14. I'm sometimes amazed at how many women are right wingers, eager to side w/machismo
I ended up in a conversation the other day with someone who claimed that women today embody, mentally, the "John Wayne" stereotype of the mid 20th century, as where men have come to encompass more of the traditionally feminine qualities.

We sent them there on lies. They've done what they were asked to. We've locked them into an intractable quagmire. A lot of them were signing up to be NATIONAL GUARDSMEN.. to help people in natural crises..

and she calls them crybabies...

I would at least email her the most horrifying pictures of what those "crybabies" have had to see & do. . . .

25. I Hate When I'm Right...
Yesterday, I caught up with a repugnican acquaintance I hadn't heard from for a while. He used to be the biggest booooosh-licker I know a couple years ago and we had some pretty heated discussions between '02-'04. In our conversation, the talked turned to the elections and he joked that I must be real happy to see "this country go to hell" and that it looks like we'll have a "democrat" as a president. I then reminded him who let this country go to hell over the past 7 years...and expected the usual boooosh excuses. There were none...instead he made a confession. One of our biggest arguments was that I've always felt this was a war for profit...especially oil company profits. He admitted I was right as he saw no strategic purpose for remaining in Iraq. He said, "if they can't straighten their shit out, having them continue to shoot at our kids is not gonna make things better". I was snickering inside and then asked if he would be voting for McCain this year. He said he was actually taking a close look at Obama...he hates McCain for being "a suck-up".

It's interesting he's "seen the light"...4,000 needless deaths too late. It also didn't hurt that his stock portfolio went south over the past couple months...nothing pisses a Repugnican more than losing money.

27. "He joked that I must be real happy"
It would have been real hard for me not to remind him that I had seen all this coming six years ago and told him right to his face that it was going to happen. No, I'm not happy about the squandering of our national treasury and the shit-canning of our national prestige for the lunatic obsessions of a bunch of delusional maniacs. Maniacs that he supported, by the way. Maniacs that he's only now come to recognize as being dangerous because they've cost him money.

Dumbass. I'd probably finish by telling him to listen to me next time I told him his political heroes were ruining the country, even if it wasn't affecting him personally. Yet.

28. What Do You Think I Was Saying?
I predicted the Iraq disaster back in '02 and he laughed...no WMD, endless occupation and war of attrition and then how this regime was fleecing the treasury to pay off all their contributors. I would ask him if he's gotten his payback from the RNC yet...and if he didn't, he obviously was getting sdrewed. And right after the '04 election...one of the last time I had talked to him until recently...I told him that now "the blood is completely on your hands".

He's known around here as "fuckhead"...as in "what stupid things did that fuckhead say this time"...but he "prides" himself on being "decisive" even if its totally wrong.

I'm sure things are affecting him...it'd be the only way to get this boooosh-licker to turn like he has. My bets are his portfolios have been crashing, business has been crap, the value on his nice new McMansion has plummeted and he hates McCain. Sucks to be him.

Cheers...

37. I've Had My Fun...
I'm fortunate that this guy needs me a lot mroe than I do him...thus I've smacked him around a bunch of times just to watch him squirm. It's a hell of a lot better than being on the other side...and I've been there, too.

A couple years ago he wanted to do a deal and was gonna fly me to meet him at his house outside Fort Worth. I told him I don't travel to red states and if he wanted this deal to fly, he's fly me to a nice Blue state...we ended up meeting in LA...I was tempted to make him meet in San Francisco, but I still had a hell of a great time for a week on his dime.

31. You see, if you are a true Republican believer, you get to say 'I support the troops' while
really berating them for their disdain of being on their 2nd., 3rd., or 4th. tour of duty. The reason is because Republicans will NOT send their own relatives nor themselves to be in the military. It's always for SOMEONE else's family.
