Yes, investigations are good for the country in itself. That should be the primary reason for these investigations IMHO.
But there is another reason, a politically beneficial reason.
Having the White House "under investigation" will cast a bad light upon this Republican and Conservative administration. This will make things a tiny bit harder for the next Republican to win if he has to oppose an image that he too will be under investigations.
But, anybody with eyes can see this. The Democratic Party has a very good reason of it's own to do investigations nearly 24/7, so everybody will win when we're fighting for the truth.
So, I think it's time to tell Democrats to do two things; pass legislation to keep the country running, and investigate the Bush Administration.
