So... Ya Wanna Impeach Bush And Cheney ??? - Get Ready To Rumble !!!
A28

A growing network of organizations and individuals has launched a new campaign to pursue the immediate impeachment of George Bush and Dick Cheney through widespread public protest, creative dissent, media activism, education, and coordinated lobbying. We believe that Bush and Cheney have committed high crimes and misdemeanors, including misleading the nation into an aggressive war, spying in open violation of the law, and sanctioning the use of torture.

Lying, spying, and torture are a betrayal of our fundamental values of truth, freedom, and justice. Far from being a partisan political quest, impeachment is a self-evident moral imperative and we demand that Congress hold Cheney and Bush accountable through the Constitutional remedy of impeachment. Members of Congress who refuse to do so will be considered complicit with these crimes.

A series of coordinated impeachment initiatives this spring will build towards April 28, which has been chosen as a day of nationwide protest in towns and cities across America to call for impeachment. Preparations are beginning for rallies, concerts, public forums, street theater, and more. If you would like to find out about A28 events in your area, help organize one, or just get more information, please sign up below.

No, we're not gonna take it. We ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT... ANYMORE!

Our son played keyboards and guitar at an event last night, in Seattle...called "Buttrock Suites". Standing Room Only! The crowd went WILD when they did "We're Not GOING to Take It Anymore!..

I would like to see people YELLING that song in the Streets!

27. Actually, What I Was Imagining Was Somthing Like A Street
Fair with music and other artists, literture, and maybe some games like Whack The Bush. But I have nod idea to organize such an event nor do I even know if the city would allow it. I have done the house parties and booths but they have limited impact. I want something that the majority of the city would want to attend.

We should do this! It would be a great way to get people active and could be a venue for other related issues -- like peace.

How hard can it be to get a permit? Every weekend out here at Ocean Beach, some group is set up in the parking lot?

I can help you hook up with performers and with crafty people who vend, if you want.

I think you are a genius and I'm going to propose this idea to my group on Sunday.

The beauty of it is in the offhand way impeachment is treated, i.e., not only is it possible but it's assumed as a right, AND made into a premise for community. How cool is that. :)

6. You're Absolutely Correct, So...
you try and create the conditions for a groundswell, a popular movement, which becomes the horse, with which to drag the gutless wonders of congress (excepting some) sitting there in the cart behind the horse with their thumbs up the arses, to the reality that if they wanna become president, or keep\add seats in congress, they better join in saving this here country of ours after we give them enough political cover to do it.

Shame that it has to be that way, but there it is.

15. You're absolutely right WillyT,
Our elected reps have a duty to lead the country out of the horrible mess this administration has put us in and they are failing us. The American people are way out ahead on impeachment, withdrawal from Iraq and numerous other issues. When our leaders fail to lead it is every citizens duty to call for action and to take action. We're now in the position of showing the way forward until Congress finds their missing cojones.

I'm in. Let's roll against the real terrorists!

45. What you can do to help
Thanks everybody! There should definitely be signs like that
in front of every house, and in everybody's window. Let's make
that happen. In the next couple of days we will be putting
PDFs and other files on the bushisover.org website that you
will be able to download and print out, or use to create your
own signs, banners, stickers, etc.. There was a twenty-foot
BUSH IS OVER! banner out in front of the Oscars yesterday and
the great Freeway Blogger (http://www.freewayblogger.com/) has
already started putting up signs and is encouraging people
everywhere to do the same. If you make your own signs and
graphics e-mail them to us at info@bushisover.org and we'll
post them on the site. We will also have t-shirts and other
gear available this week. Here are other things you can do to
help:

1. Spread the BUSH IS OVER! image around the Internet as
widely as possible. You can use the following code to post it
on your blog or website: <a
href="http://www.bushisover"><img
src="http://www.bushisover.org/images/biobanner.jpg"></a>

2. Check out the BUSH IS OVER! gallery of pictures of people
who "want it":
http://www.bushisover.org/gallery.htm. Take a picture of
yourself and either e-mail it to us at info@bushisover.org or
just post it on Flickr, tag it 'bushisover', and it will
automatically show up in our photofeed. We encourage you to
include your name, occupation, and location either in the
Flickr notes or in your e-mail to us, so we can demonstrate
the breadth and diversity of opposition to Bush and Cheney in
this country.

3. We need lots of help organizing the April 28 nationwide day
of protest. We'd like to see creative protests in hundreds of
towns and cities across the country. Please e-mail us at
info@a28.org or sign up for the A28 e-mail list and tell us if
you can help start organizing an activity in your location and
also send us your creative protest ideas.

Much much more coming soon!

48. spreading the word
Yes, we really need people to spread the word about A28 and BUSH IS OVER!. There are tens of millions of us who want this; our task now is to find each other and get organized. A28 provides a framework to do that but it's going to require everybody working to organize and attend A28 actions in their own towns and cities. We will be coordinating as much as we can but encourage everybody to go ahead, run with the idea(s), and just let us know what you're doing.
