If Inflation is Coming: Are you stocking up?
I'm thinking that it would be wise to continue to:

Store bottles of water.
Canned goods.
Lean meats, especially organic meats.
Several months worth of medication, including prescriptions
Lean meat that can be frozen.
Store up on raw nuts, powdered protein, organic nut butters, beans, and foods that in general do not contribute to inflammation.

1. No
I don't have the money to stock up, but I do have a Euro passport, so I can get the fuck out of here if needed.

Gotta love that British Colonial action!

a reduction in credit = deflation.

8. yes, it's going to be more difficult
As credit standards tighten it is already getting more and more difficult to obtain credit.

A bank in florida just "blacklisted" over 100 condo projects. They won't loan on them to anyone no matter how stellar their credit.

Bank of America is busy sending out letters informing card holders that their interest rates are increasing.

Subprime loans are now just about non-existent

Today a whole bunch of municipal bond auctions failed. That means cities can't get credit and are going to have to pay much higher interest rates.

5. building a fallout shelter?
you gonna store enough bottles of water to get you through what, maybe two weeks of "inflation" three? such preparations make sense for a few days of inclement weather, maybe a power outage.

get a little perspective. If you are REALLY going to prepare for some doomsday scenario, then what you need more than anything else is weapons. Not promoting that, mind you, just saying your suggestion is off the mark.

16. the problem is...
too much money in the hands of too few fools all chasing the next bubble. Tech stocks, subprime credit and now commodities futures. I think we will continue to see inflation as long as the idiots at the top of the pyramid keep making reckless bets which have a huge impact on supply and demand. Our economic elites have demonstrated a willingness to squeeze every last penny out of the middle class if it can get them more zeros in their net worth.

9. no, thanks...
bottles of water- nope, we have a well and a reverse-osmosis purification system

canned goods- nope again, i prefer my vegetables fresh(preferebly from the garden) or frozen. canned vegetables(from the store, not home "canned") are an abomination.

lean/organic meats- i'm more of a fish person, but if i eat red meat, i like it nicely marbled, even a little fatty

several months worth of meds/scripts- if you have prescription coverage, good luck trying to get several months worth stocked up, as they generally won't let you get more than one month at a time, and no too early refills. and if even if you don't have insurance, some pharmacists won't let you refill prescriptions too soon.

lean meat that can be frozen- i'm still more of a fish person, and fatty fish is generally better for you than lean fish.

raw nuts/butters/beans- for me, almost anything with dietary starch(except raw vegetables) will cause my sed rate(inflammation indicator) to soar. it's been tested as high as 97 -normal is around 12. almonds are one kind nut that i can enjoy.

i'm pretty much a "take it as it comes" type of person, and it's generally served me well enough to suit me.

13. No. I just seek the strength to get through a dying father, a troubled neighbor,...
,...a challenged son and this life filled with surprises, whether they be unexpected joys and triumphs or uninvited obstacles and losses.

I just want to live.

I want to live free from oppression/indoctrination/deception, given a chance to contribute and be the best of me without being exploited.

I know exploitation is the doctrine of corporatism.

I believe I,...I believe WE can LIVE FREE,...
