Tinfoil prediction RE: FISA issue

The extension expires tonight.

In time for the November election, a "domestic event" is engineered by Cheney. The quick and efficient investigation reveals that calls from overseas could have been intercepted and the plot could have been prevented...but the Democrats let the bill expire...

Come on, admit it's entirely possible.

1. No, Shrub allowed it to expire and the blame goes squarely on him for trying to protect his telcom
buddies. Period.

8. But the MSM won't report it that way
& overworked middle class Americans won't/can't take the time to investigate on their own what really happened.

WE NEED OUR FUCKING MEDIA BACK!!

WE NEED CORPORATE MONEY OUT OF OUR ELECTORAL PROCESS!!

God, we need so fucking much & get so fucking little.

Ack!

The loss of passion, the loss of caring.

Apathy.

2. It's possible
but the original law is still in effect. They could get a warrant for the wiretap if they needed it. It would make them guilty of an attack on the US if that happened. I don't think they'd risk it. I think they want to get out of Dodge as clean as possible.

4. But but but
The phone companies will not have immunity. The fact is they still can intercept calls but the phone company cannot wiretap Dems and assume immunity. Bush and Cheney are so fucked. Do not be fooled.

6. Completely possible and probably likely
but then I expected some kind of a staged attack before the GE in 2006 rather than let the Democrats take back Congress.

9. Sorry, no sale ...
BushCo's window of opportunity for staging a "domestic event" expired long ago. After seven-plus years of screaming that only a GOPer in the WH will keep the terraists at bay will go out the window - and right before an election.

Should anything untoward happen at this point, BushCo will be blamed for allowing it to happen.

11. I assume that they told these telecoms that they had proved the legality
and/or they would never be caught and even if they did they were making inroads on our judges and courts and could easily toss out trials by jurty, if necessary. In other words, they had a vision of infallibility and they had their arrogance that they successfully passed to some telecoms.

The trouble is that they put a not brillian friend of George in there and a wilding fanatic Yoo and an affirming group of old time lawyers (maybe).

Then they took rookie lawyers from Robertson's LaW School and combined them with Rove and Rovians to take care of U.S. Attorney's. But it failed. Not bright enought. Not experienced enough. And a female U.S. Atty to got things started in standing up for truth.

They even tried to put George's female lawyer on the Supremem Court.

Big mistakes and without a from a usually succescoun ceilfrlTheyNo one tries to defend anything anymore with easy words like the President can hire and fire U.S. Attys at will or at his pleasure.

They needed a Rovian legal department to carry it all off and they didn't have one. Delusional Yoo? "That-was-an-answer?-Gonzales'.

Those poor little telecoms got caught in a trap - the plan of rule and control and some payments to make it worthwhile didn't work out. And the result? A version of shock and awe plus PLOP.

and the Democrats will make a deal just to avoid blame for the possibility you have theorized about.

21. Something interesting,
CapitolNews.org has a poll on their site asking:
Would the expiration of temporary warrantless wiretapping law damage U.S. national security?
Right now the results are:
  • yes = 26%
  • No = 74%
  • Total Votes = 1679
Unless this gets Freeped badly it strongly suggests that people ain't buying Bu$h's fear mongering.

I think the writers of that show are trying to warn us.
